Looking at the schedule, I don't see more than 4-5 losses to this point, yet we sit at 16-12. Going into the season, did I have unrealistic expectations...I thought the NCAA tournament was a forgone conclusion and we'd be vying for a 4-6 seed in the tournament. Just disappointing.

It's really hard to imagine a good (hell...even an average coach) wouldn't be getting more out of this roster. 2 NBA guys (one overall #1 pick), 2 border-line NBA guys in TQ and Victor, and a really good shooter in Hornsby. I've seen my fair share of LSU teams since the 80s and this is easily the most disappointing team that I have watched. Johnny Jones is a good recruiter (if you even want to give him credit there) and nothing else. The list of deficiencies is so long.

3 more wins but a better coach wouldn't have Ben Simmons and AB here after two players leaving early to go pro. Suppose if Ben Simmons and AB were three stars our record in the SEC would be below .500. Pick your poison

I looked at our schedule and record; we have 16 wins right now.

Games this team should won, just based on the talent and quality of the opponent vs what we have:
Charleston
NC State
Tennessee
Arkansas
That gets us to 20 wins.

Games we arguably should have won, based on the opponent vs what we have:
Marquette
Houston
Alabama at home
That's 23 wins.

Games we were in good shape to win, but couldn't finish
Oklahoma at home
South Carolina

That's 25 wins, assuming we play to our potential and finish the game when it's there for the taking. 25-3, as a best case scenario, take a couple away maybe (concede the SC loss on the road, plus one other. I don't concede the Oklahoma game since that required a miraculous finish by them to win). That means we should be around 23-5 or so, rolling into the tournament right now.

You left out Wake Forest. Who btw just snapped an 11 game losing streak.

you are delusional. TQ is aweful. Victor is a good college player. Blakeny is borderline NBA but isn't very good right now. Simmons may end up the #1 pick but he is probably the worse at being a college player #1 pick ever. This team consists mainly of a collection of head cases.

I agree with that.

Exactly. And we are going to keep the coach who has us sitting at 16-12. Wow.

LSU B-Ball with a "better coach" would be undefeated, we would be like the Duke or UNLV teams of old, the PMAC would be rockin, the B-Ball players would be bangin every white girl on campus, this board would be insane. If only we could get a better coach. I can only dream.
