just a hunch, if jefferson ever went down, I doubt we'd give the reins back to jarrett and say "here, go win the game"

And he could look at Auburn, Troy, South Carolina
I have faith in Lee if he starts just as much as I have faith in JJ. I just never wanna see Crowton run Lee on bootlegs or up the middle that style doesn't seem to fit the type of QB he is. But I am not a coach on that level either and don't see them every day in practice so thats just my opinion which amounts to nothing. Same as everyone on this board, what we say/think will not influence one damn thing.

And led us back to win the games too...
We praise Flynn for leading us back to win against Bama but neglect to mention the 3 interceptions he threw in putting us that whole. Yet when we mention Lee the first thing we mention is his faults. Did he put us in holes in some games, yes he did but a few times he led us out of those holes which was a sign of him not giving up and thats a good thing.

flynn had some great plays in that game, and some REALLY dumb ones.

i'm not sucking flynn off with that game he played.

chad jones saved that game, and we all know it.

it IS a good thing.

I hope if he's ever needed, he'll have his head in the game this time.

Exactly its a team game, as easy as we can blame Lee we can blame a missed block, missed tackle, dropped ball they all could have changed the outcome of a game.

Lee was a young guy going against what we consider the best conference in the nation with the best teams. The dude is going to struggle much like JJ did against the 2 SEC teams he faced. There is a reason freshmen and new QB's tend to struggle in SEC and why teams with Junior/Senior leadership at the position fare better.

I guess it would be easy to use the law of averages to come up with an estimate, but when you only have two games to go by, it isn't that easy.
I don't see 20 sacks because not every game is against an SEC team or bowl team. He shouldn't be sacked against a ULL or La Tech type team. He also shouldn't throw ints against them. By the same token though, he won't inflate his yardage/TDs in those games...because someone else will come in to mop up.
-
2137 yds passing
326 yds rushing
21 TDs 11 INTs
7 rushing TDs
13 sacks
54% completion
1 pick 6...and if it happens in the first game or two, watch the internet forums all explode.

That's some damm good stats. I'll take that any year from our QB. Our record will be more determined by at what point in our games those 10 INTS come,IMHO.

The last non senior/junior first year starter in the SEC to have success in his first year...technically it's JJ's second year as a starter...was a mobile QB from UGA named D.J. Shockley, Shockley had seen a lot of playing time the previous year, the same way Ryan Perrilloux had during LSU's championship season. UGA won the SEC that year, beating LSU in the SEC CG.

All I'm saying is, if you're going to have a first year starter, it's probably better if he's a mobile QB who can make things happen with his feet.

I see no reason why JJ can't lead this team to Atlanta.

I wouldn't say him playing in 3 games means his second year as a starter. You are ommitting one very big name though Tebow, even though team went 8-5 he won a Heisman therefore it wasn't his fault they struggled.

Like I said I predicted 18 Touchdowns 13 Interceptions and a 10-3 record for LSU this year. Still very reasonable stats and can easily be accomplished with some help from defense.

I am loving some of these stats they are better than what Flynn did in 07. Apparently JJ after 3 games is better than what Flynn was.
