re: Really confused about the "win floor"

Outside of last year LSU has always faced a tough schedule.
So no, I don’t have to lower anything, other than my expectations that the powers that be will do the right thing if LSU is 8-4 waiting to hear which December bowl game against a mid tiered big 10 team they are getting shipped off to.

10 wins should be the expectation, not the floor. Because of where the LSU program is as far as recruiting base, facilities, available coaching salaries, etc, fans should expect 10 wins a year. There will be years where we slip to 8-9 wins due to injury, strength of schedule, etc. But once 8-9 wins becomes the norm, you need to make a change.

7 wins and Orgeron should be kicked out on his arse. God damn you people are fricking losers.
Its called a fricking FLOOR for a reason you delusional frick. Vegas had our OVER/UNDER set at 7.5 wins dumbass. and you don't think 7 wins could maybe be our FLOOR? My god some of you are just so lost. I didn't say we were gonna win 7.. but its damn sure possible.

I understand you perfectly. You change the bar depending on schedule, and complain about people lowering the bar when the schedule is more difficult. I dont. Regardless of difficulty, the bar should be set at 10 wins.

It would appear you don't.

Our actual floor is more like 4 wins FWIW.

No, it’s not. Even with Edward roaming the sidelines, this team will not finish below .500.
Say whatever you want about roster attrition and 2018s class, but there’s simply too much talent on this roster for this team to lose more than 6 games.

When I hear Jimmy Johnson,(one of the most successful coaches EVER college or pro) asked by Cowherd to name the best college jobs in the country say "LSU cuz heck, you only have a CHANCE to get beat there in a couple games a year", that puts the LSU win floor SOLIDLY at 10 every year. Ole Nick is showing how it can be done, no reason something similar can't happen here. Hell, it did for a dozen years or so recently!!

You must watch too many women videos on Facebook to think it’s actually acceptable to talk that way

That makes no sense, but I guess I should have expected that,

At this time last year, I'd have told you there was too much talent to lose to troy and get blown out by State. I'm not saying it's remotely likely we only win 4, but that is a more realistic floor than 7.

Last season was a spectacular failure. That is a fact, and not extreme.
Quit being a drama queen. It wasn't unlike a number of Miles' season which left you wanting a lot more. Different dynamics but still unsatisfying.

The "floor" is 10 wins because LSU replaced a guy who routinely won 9 or more games a season with Ogeron. Presumably, the reason for replacing Miles is because his results weren't good enough and LSU wanted to improve. Thus, fair or not, Ogeron's "floor" (concerning expectations) start where Miles's "ceiling" (at the time he was fired) ended

You know how Vegas works , right?
They are not in the business of predicting what will happen, they are in the business of finding the sweet spot of what will get them the most action.
Thoroughly. Do you know how Vegas works?
This excuse is the best. Well they aren’t actually predicting anything they want equal action on each side so they can just collect the juice and have no risk blah blah blah. Do you know how rare it is to have equal action on 2 sides of a proposition with thousands of bets at various amounts on both sides?
So you don’t think oddsmakers go through each teams schedule, opponent by opponent, using their own power ratings and predictions to come up with season win totals? They just “pick” a number that will possibly entice both sides? If they weren’t accurate, they’d get crushed. Does Vegas get crushed often? LSU’s total last year was 9 btw. How many games did we win last year?

At this time in 2015 I’d have told you this team is too talented to lose to Arkansas.
At this time in 2013 I’d have told you this team is too talented to lose to Ole Miss.
I’m not excusing the state and Troy games, I’m just saying that I’m not sure you understand what a “floor” is if you think this teams floor is 4 or 5.

Expectations are too high. That should answer all of your confusion.

You could have just said “no” and saved us a bunch of time instead of spouting off unsubstantiated nonsense.
Do you know why lines move up until the beginning of a game? It’s because if too much action comes on one side, the line moves.
“That is literally their business”
No, The only people who’s business is *literally* prediciting the future are the bozos at Jackson Square reading poor saps, like you, palms.

No it isn’t. Winning games in the past doesn’t outweigh things that actually matter like current roster, QB, coaching, and schedule. You realize it’s FAR more likely that we win 7-8 games total than it is to win 10+ right?

One win was considered good, and we needed a miracle to get that win.
I don’t think you know what a ‘miracle’ is...
Or maybe you are just reaching a little bit just to shite on the team.... I dont get it
