To be fair, you never really here the story of "Yeah they were great and shared their food/drinks with us, etc." You always here "They were all a$$holes." One bad guy ruins the reputation for everyone. With that said, I feel like we should go to the student tailgates

Sorry,

Not inferior.

In fact, that is where the unrulyness comes from. WVU fans have this huge inferiority complex....it even comes from their AD.

Paraphrasing from Oliver Luck:
"Saturday is the biggest day in WVU football, and ESPN is talking about conference expansion."

They cannot handle the lack of attention. Then when LSU come to Morgantown......and puts a comfortable, yet dominating beat down on the eers, they will blame it on the refs.

Again, google WVU fans. They get WAY too offended....just look at this entire thread.

I get it, there are good WVU fans, but collectively, they truly suck.

I live in Charlotte, and they are everywhere because its the farthest they can go on one tank of gas.

i think its kind of funny when people are scared to go to away games (not just wvu) because of what the other teams fans might do. not matter where you go there will be assholes, but if YOU do the right thing and know when to walk away, then 9 times out of 10, you'll be fine. i LOVE away games, i enjoy the banter and being the villian, its tons of fun.

I have been in the swamps around La and in the Appalachian Mnts with those folks and each can be pretty scary but I think the Mnt folks are just a little more IMO

I have heard numerous stories from people I trust to the effect that locals in Morgantown, not likely associated with WVU, take games like this as an opportunity to get drunk and way more obnoxiously confrontational than is the norm in even the most hostile SEC game day environment. I think the cautions should be taken seriously.

Ive been to:

Bama,
Tenn
AU
UGA
Kentucky
South Carolina......best fans so far....even when they were 0-11...still filled the stands.
Miss State
Vandy
Clemson
Va Tech

loved em all

also been to:

UNC
DUKE
NCSTATE.....and all were snoozers.

I ain't scared of any venue...just too old to put up with bullshite.

The only one that was uncomfortable was when I saw Va Tech at WVU. Projectiles tossed on the visitors' section from the second quarter and so on.........................and now Va Tech made the decision to not play in Morgantown for a looooong time.

Pretty soon the Eers will have to resort to playing MAC teams for a paycheck instead of to 25 non conference matchups.

They are even having a tee shirt trade in for the
West-F-ing-Virgina for 25 dollars. Bunch of tards.

not likely associated with WVU,

It's not the normal WVU fan. It's a combination of the students from the east coast and the true Mt. folk who never set foot on WVU's campus as a student.

I would definitely say ECU is inferior...

link? what? where did that come from, thats a lie. even if it wasnt made up its the truth, from our end, all the talk is expansion when we should be focusing on our next football opponent.

you know whats funny? when you google ecu fans, it autocorrects you for TCU fans.

you know what else is funny?
this letter from the ecu chancellor to ecu fans.
LINK

furthermore, ive only ever seen like tops, 1000 ecu fans in morgantown when you all come, nobody harrasses you there because youve never beat us in morgantown, we dont care about you.

run along now, back to being a butt-pirate.

I went to the WVU vs Cinn. game last year. That game was pretty laid back. The fans were terrible. Rooting for your team and jabbing at its fans are one thing but when you cuss and throw stuff at the other teams fans is another. The police did step in after a while and escorted some of the more obnoxious ones out. That was after three quarters of banter.

"The sad part of it is, theoretically, this should be the most important week in the history of Mountaineer football," West Virginia athletic director Oliver Luck said Tuesday. "'GameDay' is here. nope, that's not inferiority

I have no clue where you people get this idea that WVU fans are complete idiots.

Kid, I have been a Tiger fan since 1988....happened to go to ECU since it was in state.

However, ECU beat Pat White, last time I looked.

assuming you are talking about an inferiority complex and not just the word, because that wouldn't make sense, how is that in any way an evocation of an inferiority complex? do you know what that is? do you realize that he's addressing the rumors flying about yesterday that involved wvu and expansion? being denied, not being denied etc? he's saying its sad that within the confines of wvu football rather than focusing on the actual game of football people are talking expansion, dollar signs and rumors?

but i mean if you want to argue the definition of a word because you're a jackass thats fine, the game talk has taken a backseat to expansion, therefore it is lower on the totem pole of what is being discussed in the media, there by being, i guess in your twisted and moronic view, inferior.

but saying its sad that this is what is being discussed over an actual game of football does not evoke any thoughts of an inferiority complex, you dolt.
