You guys shouldn't get your expectations up so high, so early. It's his FIRST year! Give the guy some time to bring in his own talent & culture. Lane was unquestionably the most talented OC we ever had at Alabama (despite the dumb mistakes he made off-field). He broke most historical O records & we've never been that productive since.
I'm not thrilled that he's at LSU, but IMO he's is an offensive genius. Saban's results were mediocre his 1st year. You have to be a little patient in this business.
And, those bashing him for those 4th down calls ... you're going to love those calls when he has the players who have his Mojo and can carry them out. It goes with the package. See ya next year!

I appreciate your post but you are trying to talk sense into a fan base that thinks the game is over and it’s time to start firing coaches and benching quarterbacks if LSU loses the coin toss. Best of luck.

This loss was on the players. Not the coaches.
Players did not execute plays where they had chances. If they had LSU would have been up 28 points

lol. Nobody was ever open inside the 15 yard line except the drop at the 3 yard line. That’s coaching. And we snapped it a ton inside that yardage.

Don’t run the fourth down plays if you don’t have the dudes to do it. That’s just common sense. Are you telling us to be happy that he’s running plays that don’t match his personnel in one breath and then the next breath you’re saying he’s an offensive genius? Go back to the Bama board!

I don’t want Lane to be fired. I think he’s a very good coach. He deserves criticism too.
