Just got back home from Baton Rouge.
My experience was great. Met some LSU students at a bar downtown and ended up tailgating with LSU fans all day. We heard Tiger bait several times, but if you can't take that, you probably have issues yourself. Most of the harassment came from children. Most of the adults seemed eager to talk football or baseball.
The pregame traditions were amazing, everything from the band marching down the street, to parking Mike next to where the Hogs ran out. Mike's habitat is a sight to see as well. I was disappointed that Alex Box stadium and the Maravich Assembly Center were off limits. I really wanted to check those out.
There was nothing worth complaining about as far as the stadium was concerned. It was waaaaay better than War Memorial. No tin ceilings, plenty of room to move about, easy access to restrooms with short lines, you can order something other than a hot dog and a bottled coke, and it didn't smell like piss. The dorms were there for a reason when the stadium was built and I think it adds to the character and history. I agree they should do something about the windows.
Overall, I loved the experience. I made some new friends and I plan on going back.

.what is in the old dorms?
Asbestos. Very expensive to remove.
There are plans to fix up the windows on the outside though.

The original intent of this thread was obviously a weak flame attempt.

It's thanksgiving, half the people in the student section were guest upgrades.
Campus was strangely dead before kickoff, a la Auburn this year. Once again, it's just that time of year, against a middle of the road opponent.

However, I never felt that the place lived up to the "intimidating" reputation it has developed over the years.
Any Tiger fan that argues with this hasn't been around the last 2 years. Great fans don't need a top 10 team to get them excited. They would yell, scream, and stay to the end (especially when the outcome is still in doubt) no matter who the opponent. Until the fans realize that leaving at half-time is not acceptable, the fanbase will be considered only a big game crowd.

Don't leave, I wanted to hear what happened to your 56-10 Hogs prediction?

Hell, I didnt know he was slow. I feel bad for him now.
Seriously, did someone really make that prediction?

With respect, I don't give a hoot about what someone from Arkansas thinks about gameday at LSU.
With all due respect, others may.
With all due respect, Kappa never mentioned others.
But to address your statement, really - probably not - IMO.

Who cares what they think? I love Tiger Stadium and that is all that matters to me.

no offense, but your entire fan base seems butthurt that they got outcoached by LES MILES

quote:and Ryan Malletthead got pownd on national TV by Erin Andrews with his dumbass comment to her that "I told you so!" after Arkansas took the lead and LSU started driving down the field for the tying field goal! Her comment, "I have no idea what he told me since I have not spoken with him for weeks" was awesome as we proceeded to kick his dancing arse off the sideline seats. Dumb taunting redneck!

All you Razorback fans can take your opinions about LSU with you back to your board...since eveything you have is so damn good....why did you come over here to begin with?.....

overall most of them seem to have had a good time, which i like to see.

quote:This sounds like a cop out. Fans should get up for every game. I can understand the "rent-a-wins" not getting a bunch of hype, but an SEC game should always be nuts. Not just against UF and Bama.
Ark fans need to attend a game hosting UF on game day if they want to experience TS at night properly..

Baton Rouge has always been my favorite trip.
The stadium is a shithole, but it's a fun atmosphere. The LSU band is unmatched. The crowd is 10x as enthusiastic as the nursing home crowds we have in Fayetteville.
