And it's impossible to have a losing streak to finish out the season? And I know for a fact that teams have won with 3 ,4 & 5 freshman players. Does the fab 5 ring a bell?

Trent did not have to give Storm, Bass or Delwan a scholarship but he honored them; therefore, they are technically his recruits, I give him a pass for his 1st year.

bass is the only one he recruited which is looking pretty bad....storm and delwan had already signed LOI and he chose to honor them....a decision that as a new coach coming into a new environment and well behind in recruiting was a pretty easy one for him to make....

also, while you're at it, don't forget Harris was in that class and had already signed before TJ got here....but by your philosophy, go ahead and give that a fail too since he had to dismiss him

Honestly White has been a disappointment but what did he do at Ole Miss that thought he was gonna make a difference.

Trent's only knock coming into LSU was his recruting. and after 2 full years of his players, it's looking to be true. But, you can continue to spin my post however you like.

If he gets a pass for the first year, I don't see how you can say they are a failure? Lets next year's class play before you make that determination.

Trent gave a scholly to Bass. He "honored" the scholarships to Warren, Graham, and Harris.

I don't see how anyone can conclude anything in general about Trent's recruiting this year.

The grade should be INC.

Turner is a win. Derenbecker is a win. When you think of White on the plane of a JUCO, he's actually been pretty good. I consider him a win.

I'll grant you that Bass is a fail, and Ludwig maybe approaching that category, but outside of the players I mentioned above, I don't see how you can draw any conclusions about any other player on the roster.

Stringer- INC
Courtney- INC
Hamilton- INC
O'Bryant- INC

Don't include Graham, Harris, KC Ross Miller, or Warren, though. That's ridiculous.

The grade has to be INC.

Yeah the fab 5 is the same thing. Just the fact that out of high school all five were rated in the top 100 and 4 were rated in the top 10. Webber was ranked #1, Howard was ranked #3, Rose was ranked #6, King was ranked #9, and Jackson was ranked #84.

And Kentucky having John Wall and Cousins coming in after being recruited as #1 and #2 and Orton and Bledsoe coming in as 22 and 23 is the same thing.

Dotson is another who was highly thought of coming out of high school who basically has done nothing and he has been here 2 years.

Dotson, Stringer, and White are my 3 biggest disappointments so far this year

How does this guy finish tonight's game with 0 rebounds and 5 PF's in 23 minutes?

What is he doing out there?

Basically a failure. Unable to get a couple of decent players after winning the SEC in Year 1 = F/D -

He is going to be unemployed after next year if something does not drastically change

White wasn't JUCO, he played in the SEC before transfering. I am tired hearing that this team is young and can't be successful because of it. The 2006 team has nothing but underclassmen. Freshmen-Tyrus Thomas, Chris Johnson, Magnum Rolle, Garrett Temple, Ben Voogd, Tasmin Mitchell. Sophomore-Glen Davis. If you have talent you can be successful, young or not.

How the hell was Dotson a 4 star recruit? The first of the year I thought youth was the problem but I am not so sure only a couple players are SEC caliber. I am not sold on TJ either. His recruiting looks mediocre at best.

It isn't an excuse. It is a reason. Magnum Rolle and Chris Johnson hardly played. Tyrus Thomas and Temple were redshirt freshman so they both had a year of being on the team before being thrown into playing. It helps that Darrel Mitchell was a very good SENIOR point guard. And Ben Voogd? haha him averaging 1.1 pts a game that year and having just as many turnover as assists really helped.

That year our starters were:
G- Mitchell - Sr.
G- Temple - RSFr
F- Thomas - RSFr
F- Davis - Soph
F- Mitchell - Fr.

Had a Junior in Darnell Lazare coming off the bench as the 6th man too who played a solid role.

This year:
G- Stringer -Fr
G- Dotson - Soph
G- Turner - Fr
F- Derenbecker - Fr.
F- Green, Warren, White (been with the team 1 year) - all Juniors.

If you want to compare to the 06 team it may look a lot alike but the key peices of that team were there for a year or more before they made the run and one of the top 2 players on that team was a senior point guard.

It doesn't matter if they were redshirt freshmen. They were still underclassmen and hence still considered young as was Big Baby.

Well he grabbed the only big recruit over the last three years out of LA (Derenbecker).

I am sure it would be nice if he had guys like Stromile Swift, Brandon Bass, Glenn Davis, Tasmin Mitchell, DJ Augustine, or Greg Monroe to actually recruit out of Louisiana. He also isn't from the area so he needs to build relationships in the southeast to land big talents.
