Beatles? Ride of the Valkyrie? Paint it black? Holy shite you people I swear. In case you didn't know most of the men on the field are black and listen to rap. The piped in music is not for you up in the suites, it's for the people on the field. You really think White wants to hear "revolution" to pump him up before a punt return? Or LF wants to hear "paint it black" on a 3rd & 5? No. They want to hear something aggressive. And violent. With some massive bass. Some kind of music THEY can relate to. Jesus Christ I hope when I'm 40 I'm not nearly as miserable and out of touch as some people in this thread.

"Rap" music? I don't think it's even called that anymore.

Doesn't matter what you call it- we don't need it in anything more than small amounts...

Actually, I read an article about the Tiger Stadium DJ this year and he said he tries to find a balance that will make the fans in the stands happy and the team. The money is sitting in those seats, but winning usually fills the seats. He said the band gets to play when they want. If they opt not too play or it's not enough time for them to play, then he takes over.

THIS IS A LIE.
I KNOW A PARENT OF A KID IN THE BAND. ATHLETICS HAS SOMEONE ON A HEADSET TELLING THE BAND WHEN THEY CAN AND CANNOT PLAY. HER SON SITS RIGHT BEHING THE GUY WITH THE HEADSET.

"The band gets first choice," Huber explained. "Whenever the band wants to play, they can play. Unless we have a PA that we have to get in or if we have a presentation on the field, we always give the band first option to play. If they choose not to to take a break or we don't have enough time to get a full song in, we are only substitutes to the band."

LSU DJ

I personally have no clue, but it came from the DJ and I don't know why he would lie.

if you need terrible music to "get pumped" for a game, you don't need to be there.
it's hard for me to have fun when $hit is being blasted into my ears. so, I choose to not go.
If you think the student's noise is more important than the money generated by ticketholders, don't ever try to start your own business because you will fail.

They are there to entertain me. It's like going to the movies. You cater to people paying the bills.

Funny, you must know me well. Also funny because I can probably afford to "buy" a lot more things than you could want.

I have friends who sit in the north end zone who say the stadium speakers are so loud, they can barely speak to one another during the game. They leave EVERY game with their ears ringing. They say it is unbearable.

Sat there last year for a few games and it is loud. Seems like that's the only speakers in the stadium so to get it to reach across they crank them up. Instead of getting a proper sound system.

As far as the rap goes. For the UF game everytime they played hip hop the majority of the fans I could see were dancing and having a good time.

Get over it. It's not changing. Whether you agree or like it. The music is for the players and the student section.

Go ahead drop your tickets. There is a list of people waiting to take tgem

I think the DJ is told when to play/not play rap music the same as the band is told when they can and cannot play. Someone else is controlling this, not the DJ.

When you're 7-0, you have to LOOK for something to complain about.

This has been a topic for quite some time/a few years at least. We are LOYAL LSU fans and are concerned about the atmosphere in Tiger Stadium changing to the NFL model.

Agreed, but LSU is still a hot ticket. As long as they win it won't matter.

Agreed. Yet, really doesn't have to matter. Only thing that matters is how the individual wants to spend his/her time and money. A 60" screen gives me a pretty good seat.

Lol at this thread.

It's not going to change. Either deal with it or don't buy tickets.
