wow, I did't tealize Lafell was a 2nd tier receiver. His numbers were probably more due to excellent qb play last year.

People were fearful that RR would kill us this year if he went to Bama

People were fearful that Saban would come in and sign the #1 player in Louisiana, which essentially, would have been a serious blow to future LSU recruiting. I was a lot less worried about his game impact than his recruiting impact.

Lafell is a 5th year senior who will be a first round pick

That is debateable.

No it's not.

That is VERY debateable.

I agree with you here.

lafell was only a 3-star i'd much rather have green or jones as our #1

Sarcasm? I hope so. I would take Lafell, at this point. Julio would likely overtake him after time in the system. How much time, nobody knows. Green may never overtake him.

Lafell, with similar numbers as last year, can be a 2nd round, maybe first round draft choice. Improved numbers, likely first rounder.

Unless i'm mistaken he was graded very early 2nd round. Early enough to possibly slip into the 1st.

I could be wrong, though.

Maybe Saban has a reputation of playing true freshmen if they prove they can make plays.

Lafell was projected as the 5th best WR in the 2009 draft, all behind other underclassmen. Using some simplistic logic, he should be rated as the top senior of 2010 draft (right now anyway). First round is not a stretch.

Actually, I didn't graduate from LSU so I wouldn't be on any type of email contact. The 18th of April? I will be in NOLA then, but that sounds like fun!!

During the recruiting process when it looked as though Randle would end up at Bama, it seems that most felt he would be the perfect compliment to Julio and have the same type of effect on the SEC this year as Julio and AJ Green had last year as freshman.
You know why they were saying this?

Randle is a great talent, obviously, but think of who the #2 WR is for Bama next year. . .before signing day. Randle would have been the obvious #2 for Bama due to a vacuum of talent at that position.

quote:

Since signing him, and recognizing he is not on campus yet, it seems that most Tiger fans feel that he will contribute but that the heavy lifting next year will be done by Tolliver and Lafell with RR in sparingly.
Lafell and Tolliver are phenomenal talents, in their own right, and are farther along in the system.

In 2 years, look for Randle and Toliver to punk SEC DB's.

Randle was never going to Bama. It was either LSU or OU the entire time.
