Clemson may have gotten this tiger later on but the tiger nickname and colors came from Auburn

. It’s the hair style. Every woman that was that age at that time kept that exact hairstyle even to now. So when we see someone with that hair they remind us of the old ladies with that style now.

Great photo
Using my own age as a guide, the youngest girls in that picture would be 80 years old, if this was the fall of ‘59 and she hadn’t had her birthday yet and she was a freshman.
In any event, they were the cream of the crop at LSU at that time.
