Are you satisfied with what you have seen in his first year as head coach? (I am legitimately asking and not interested in the typical "we have to wait and see what happens" answer.)

Yes, I am. If LSU had of folded (like they could have easily done after the Ms St / Troy games) it would have been devastating. To go 6-2 after those games with one of the losses coming to the team that won the national championship was very satisfying.

In what you have witnessed for a year under his leadership- are you proud of the where the program stands currently and are you satisfied as a fan that we are headed in the direction of winning SEC/National Championships?

Yes, I think LSU is being built in the correct manner. From the trenches out. Well with the WR's, LB's and DB's on the team that isn't entirely true, but the SEC in won on the lines. LSU is improving on the lines.

Jesus Christ. Follow along. I’m specifically talking about the offense and how he openly admitted to changing it and forcing our coordinator to do things he wouldn’t otherwise do, resulting in a LOSS. He didn’t make those statements when we won. He gave credit to our coordinators.

But by all means, ignore the glaring realities about why we lost.

The three games in which it was obvious and stated publicly that he was heavily involved in were Msst, Troy, and ND.

Coincidence?

It's not a coincidence. What you posted is a lie. There is a BIG difference.

No, it isn’t a lie. Ed Orgeron didn’t go for it on fourth down when Canada wanted to. Ed Orgeron removed the shifts and motions and deviated from the game plan. He admitted this.

What win-loss result this season would cause you to believe otherwise?

The very minute you try to rationalize an LSU loss to Troy in football is the moment I quit taking you seriously. There are no excuses for it. We got beat—it is inexcusable, PERIOD. The head coach shoulders the blame for embarrassing losses, sorry.

To the O haters. How did a mentally retarded , special ed, shrimp boat captain win 9 games last year? Somebody that handicapped should not have won any games!

Too Easy. Ill take the bait!
1) Dave Aranda
2) Matt Canada
3) The stocked cupboard of talent that LSU always has.

Ahh so you are satisfied with their effort and how they rallied after embarrassing losses. Why were we in the position to have to rally from these losses in the first place? (For the record, had our losses been to Auburn/Alabama/Florida I would not even be asking this question because I, myself, didn't expect them to go undefeated last year.)

Blown out by state, and by blown out I mean blown. the. frick. out. (I was there)

Troy: There is no justification for this this loss, I could give two-shits if they ended the year with 100 wins - LSU Should never lose to Troy at home. Period, End of Story.

Alabama: You are correct, good effort against the national champions - but the score appeared closer than the game was and we all know that.

ND: This game was all on the coaches. Embarrassing way to end a disappointing season.

quote:

Yes, I think LSU is being built in the correct manner.

Because we are focusing on the lines, which was literally the weakest part of our team last year? My 12 year old cousin knows LSU needs to improve in the trenches...

So for the record, you are satisfied that Ed Orgeron and the staff he has assembled is leading LSU in the direction of winning SEC/Playoff/National Championship Games? And you believe what he has done thus far in his tenure as Head Coach at LSU is what the program needs to get back to being an elite college football team?

There's a reason they're paying Aranda more than most HCs. Without him LSU is in dire straits.

quote:Clapp and left tackle KJ Malone said they felt no difference operating in the more simplified offense. Presnap movement more affects the skill players, they said, specifically the receivers and running backs.

quote:“I enjoy when we shift. It gets the defense … makes it a little hectic,” he said. “They don’t know where to line up, more worried about where they can be or what they should do. I really enjoy that.”

You said:
"The lineman said after the Troy game that the motions were easy and didn't really affect them."

Your quotes and link don't state that anywhere.

The link says stuff like:
"Center Will Clapp said there was another point made, too.

“Everybody’s got to get on the same page,” he said.

The coaches, too."

"Clapp even said he prefers the shifts, but he admitted they can get “confusing” for such a young unit."

"“I feel like a lot of people don’t know the offense yet,” Malone said. “That kind of affects us.”"

"The return of Canada’s scheme doesn’t mean immediate success. His unit scored seven points at Mississippi State, stumbled in the red zone against BYU and has gone three straight games without cracking the 175-yard rushing mark (a first since 2012 for LSU)."

"Orgeron revealed Monday that he inserted himself into Canada’s system last week. He hoped to “simplify” it by eliminating the presnap shifts and motions to help a struggling offensive line that started two true freshmen"

The link counters your argument more than it helps.

Thanks for the link.
