We would be if we could be. If I made very little money at my current job but had millions of dollars waiting for me with an upcoming job, and risked losing it by continuing to do my current job, I would quit current job in a heartbeat and my coworkers would understand and support me.

But, it’s easy for me to be loyal to my coworkers and not be a quitter because I’m not in that situation where I’m risking losing millions of dollars in future earnings.

You are simply going to have to accept the reality that YOUR values are not completely the same as these "Opt-out" folks and the folks who support them.

And you'll also have to accept the reality that you will never be able to force these other folks to accept your values. And you'll also have to accept that these folks will NEVER hear your side of the issue and then change their minds to agree with you.

Your values are "old fashioned" and belong to a by-gone era. The Zeitgeist of 2020 USA is COMPLETELY different than it was a mere 25 years ago.

One accepted method to measure a "Generation" of people is 40 years. When you take that unit of measure and compare the USA of 40 years ago to the USA of today, you can understand why the Opt-out folks will be the majority if they aren't already.

Compare 1980 USA to 2020 USA. That's 40 years. Your values belong to 1980 USA, which is a by-gone age never to return.

We might as well complain about the adoption of the Forward Pass rules in Foot-ball.

PS I'm not attacking you, I'm just saying.

People defended fournette sitting out the bowl game but now the quitting term is justified seeing how he has turned out.

What about McCaffery? Bosa

But I’m sure that’s it, if only Leonard Fournette had played on his hobbled ankle in the super duper meaningful Citrus Bowl he would dominating in the NFL right now

When you start seeing LSU’s team fall apart every year because players want to get paid then maybe you’ll begin to understand. I get it that they think they are preserving their health. I think good teammates have a loyalty to their team. You cannot play the game of football at the highest level with the idea in your head that you may get hurt. In my opinion, those players who put themselves before the team are not who I would want as teammates. Don’t want you in the fox hole with me.

Understand what? That something you watch for entertainment isn’t as good? B-O-O-H-O-O. If there was another path to the pros (like with baseball) most of those players probably wouldn’t be in college to begin with. No doubt the quality of play in college baseball would be much better if kids did sign right out of HS are those kids quitters too? What about the Jrs that leave early? I’m sorry that your entertainment doesn’t have as many good players maybe you shout reprioritize life if it makes you so angry?

Ok Guy. Not denying opting out is a selfish move and bad for the sport, but we shouldn’t melt down over it. I do think we should pay these players, double edged sword to judge like you are. Call em quitters, doubt they care but before pointing fingers think about your own life decisions. They’re doing what they feel is best, yes it sucks for the team and us as fans. I put this whole year on the coaches. They should have players ready to step up and play, we saw some younger guys do that against UF finally so I’m not freaking out as bad as you seem to be.
