Anyone know much on him? Better coach than recruiting etc. Would this be an upgrade over Grimes? Haven't seen much posted.

I think this hire is about Orgeron bringing in one of his guys on the offensive side of the ball.

Or hiring an immensely talented coach with a hell of a resume and results.

Maybe both.

I'm not trying to discount his qualifications. I honestly don't know much about him. Based on his resume he seems to be a good hire. Perhaps you are right and both came into play in the selection process.

I know is he is an O guy but everyone wanted Grimes gone so he is gone. Does that mean we got better? Do we change blocking schemes etc. I thought the freshman were coming around good.

He's got hairy arms. That's usually a good quality in a coach.

Lol, how big are his calves? Really all I'm hoping is we win in the trenches and improve at qb.

Cregg spent just one season in Knoxville before moving out to California to become the offensive line coach at USC for the next four seasons (2010-13). Cregg coached first-team All-Pac-12 selections in each of his four years with the school, including offensive tackles and future NFL first-round picks Tyron Smith (No. 9, Dallas, 2011) and Matt Kalil (No. 4, Minnesota, 2012). In 2011, USC finished second in the nation in sacks allowed (eight) despite not starting a senior along the offensive line.

In 2007, Cregg landed his first NFL job as an assistant offensive line coach with the Oakland Raiders (2007-08). In 2009, he was hired to coach the offensive line at the University of Tennessee. That season, the Volunteers allowed just 12 sacks, tied for fewest on the Southeastern Conference.

quote:

In Cregg’s first year with the Broncos (2014), Denver’s offensive line featured new starters at all five positions. Despite the changes, the Broncos allowed the fewest sacks in the NFL (17) and ranked fourth in the League in total offense (402.9 ypg). Tackle Ryan Clady earned his fourth-career Pro Bowl nod.
