did the campus seem relatively dead for such a big game (top 25 matchup against our most hated rival)?

it was a 230 game and i got into BR around 1030 and hit 0 traffic coming in. got a nice parking spot

when we made it to the parade grounds, it seems really subdued and quiet

hell, even the stadium wasn't loud at all until we started beating the hell out of them (which is funny in itself)

Shouldn't this be on the rant?

tailgating just hasn't been the same over the last 5 years or so.

I haven't been tailgating in a couple years and am not really motivated to drive there and deal with traffic when I could just stay home, grill, drink beer then watch the game in air conditioned comfort on a 65" HD tv.

easily

esp now, with the LSU and Bama fanbases both essentially blowing each other this year

this isn't about the LSU team. this is about social aspects of the game, which is an OT topic

oh i agree. i usually make it in to tailgate once a year, b/c i prefer a party at a friends house over tailgating much more

1. food? check
2. easy bathrooms? check
3. better view of the game? check
4. being able to watch all the other games? double check

but i will say we usually make it in for 1 game a year, and Bama-LSU in 2008, LSU-UF in 2009, and hell even LSU-UTenn last year were about 10x more energetic on campus

Bama-LSU was electric in 2008

Same with me. This was my first game since WVU last year and I am happy with 1-2 games a year. I enjoy watching the games in New Orleans with friends at someone's house or a bar.

I think everyone is tired of the day games maybe. Or are just ready for bama. It was pretty packed for the florida game. And yeah. I only head out there once or twice a year now. Too much hassle for parking etc

a schedule full of 230 home games will do this. Never left touchdown village except to walk to the game and i didnt think it was dead by any stretch.

I felt more buzz walking around campus before the Florida game than yesterday's game. It didn't quite have that huge game feel, but it was still pretty good. I walked through the motorhome lots, down Nicholson to the PMAC.
