From a clemson fan. THIS.
Question for the LSU guys
Posted by Clemson72 online on 1/4/20 at 1:29 pm
What Clemson is particularly good at is changing into the correct defensive play at the line of scrimmage once they see the offense of formation. What Clemson struggles with is the no huddle hurry up. For obvious reasons because they can’t change defensive formations as efficiently. That’s why Ohio State had success early and I am amazed that they did not continue to do that. My question to you guys is does LSU go fast often? I have not watched LSU enough to know.
----
Yes. All game long. Because old all the different formations and not allowing the defense to substitute, it puts tremendous pressure on the defense for communication and correct coverage. Our opponents usually have 2 or 3 beakdows in defense per game thst result in touchdowns. Saban even talked about this in his post game comments after we beat them.

Nah we’re more a 3 yards and a cloud of dust type team. You all will steamroll us.

If you watch a full LSU game you will miss some snaps if you skip forward ten or twenty seconds.

Just know you won’t be able to sub on defense. Clemson is fricked

ETA: 49 first half points, only 14 in second half but still scored every possession in second half except the last one when we ran out the clock.

Tune in on January 13, you'll find out.

A typical LSU drive looks something like
Toss dive
Toss dive
Option to short side
Punt
Your boys shouldn't have to make many adjustments

Sometimes we go fast...but not too much...depends on situation.
LSU sometimes will allow you to substitute set your defense up and because LSU has 6 options to go to we will go with the option that is the best match up...

We actually suck at football. ESPN just worships the SEC so we backed in. Don’t mind us

LSU not only goes very fast on tempo, but it also doesn't substitute for extensive periods of time. Making it very hard for defensive teams to defend against them.

If this is even remotely true, then you are not going to like what will happen.
Kirby brought it up after the SEC Championship. We ran 28 plays straight with no substitutions...
None...
