i know a number of people like this. they were all lsu when we won nc but now they make sure to point out how lsu sucks when we lose a game. they are bama fans now and houston texan fans where they were lsu and dallas cowboy fans earlier. it is something in their makeup that requires them to be a "fan" of a championship team. they are pitiful excuses of sportsdom. don't waste time with them. i have a neighbor like that; actually calls me or texts me negative lsu stuff and the guy is not even a football fan. i quit answereing his calls and texts.

People like that don't have a CLUE what they are missing.
From my first Tiger game on October 25, 1969, at age 7, I have been an LSU Tiger. But even from birth, I was born with old gold veins and royal purple blood, and stripes on the bottom of my feet. I have had to shave my whiskers daily.

When one is indoctrinated into TigerTown and walks with wide-eyed amazement into Death Valley at a very young age, sees Mike, listens to TGBFTL, it becomes PART of you, part of your soul and psyche.

If not, you must not have have had a pulse.......

They have a welder at work that yells "go Alabama" everytime I talk to another hand at work about LSU. He's never been to college, so I could really care less about opinions on people like that.

LSU Alum, and will always love the tigers, but over the past few years the fans have initiated a hate that has drawn me away from them.

You use to never see me miss a game, and I never wanted to move from BR. Well, I moved last in January and miss games all the time now.

Those type people are just assholes as someone mentioned earlier.

My dad wasn't a big sports guy, but he was always a Tulane fan because he was from NOLA (different world in the 50's-80's). He was the type that would say he wants LSU to go 10-1, with the 1 being to Tulane of course so he didn't hate them. People that root against home teams for no reasons are just jerks, plain and simple.

I know a guy from NO who likes Bama football, kentucky basketball, Miami heat basketball, and Atlanta falcons football.

He's probably the worst person I know.

Should all people from NOLA be Tulane fans? Everyone from Lafayette root for ULL? North La all be Tech or ULM fans?

The one's that are band wagon hoppers and contrarians for the sake of it are extremely annoying, but I don't think just because some one is born in La they should be obligated to be LSU fans.

Naw. An NLU grad, but there is only one flagship school in the state of Louisiana. Those of us that were born and raised in the state have known this all their lives.

I spend a lot of time in Monroe and Bastrop and see Bama license plates and stickers everywhere. Way more than Arkansas. 9+ times out of 10 they have Lousiana plates on their vehicles. I wanna ask them !

Only people I ever met that were anti-LSU in Louisiana were alums of other schools such as Tulane, ULL, ULM, SLU, La-Tech, etc. ULL, in my opinion, is the most annoying. Regardless, those are usually the first people to throw on an LSU jersey when LSU goes to a National Championship. Anytime one of these people attempt to bash LSU, your best defense is just to laugh in their face, because they are nothing but a joke.

Honestly, no other university in Louisiana can hold a candle to LSU athletically and if they tell you otherwise you can dismiss them as a liar.

Even worse is when someone who never attended LSU tries to tell you how much "more" of a fan they are. I usually just point to my LSU degree and tell them to get back to me when they have one of those. Or I ask them when they lived on campus and then point to the dorm I lived in freshmen year.

I f*****g despise people like that. Makes no sense to hate LSU and the Saints when you're born and raised in LA. I went to Nicholls for athletic training. The hatred, or should I say jealousy, towards LSU from their athletic department and athletes are unreal. Those dudes act like they would have chosen Nicholls over LSU if Miles was knocking on their door which is complete BS. During the 06-07 championship season, I wore my LSU hat to class on a test day. The teacher docked me 10 points for wearing it. Later I found out she is a closet Auburn fan

Typical Tulane fans. Never were able to play football but knows how to hate. I kinda feel sorry for them but they simply couldn't compete so they got out of the SEC. I think their great in Badmen-tin.

indeed ... this is where you bloviate about purple blood and how you made a robot of Mike the Tiger when you were in Kindergarten and made millions selling Saban voodoo dolls out front of Chimes and what-not.

That should read: some of the fans and not "the fans".imo

A "hate"? I can't agree with that.

Success in sports can well bring out both the arrogance and entitlement which is housed in some if not most of us, but this is not just limited to the LSU fanbase.

I have lived in BR a long time and I don't feel this "hate" you speak of, but each to our own.

My bro in law played ball at USL (ULL), and after many conversations on why he didn't like LSU, I finally got to the root of the problem. He said all you read in the local paper is LSU this and LSU that, and that there were other college's in LA that deserved coverage. I calmly explained to him that none of the others were relevant and warranted the coverage LSU gets. My nephew hates LSU because his childhood friends were huge LSU fans, he a Tulane fan, and they used to give him grief all the years LSU was beating Tulane. Needless to say, he is now a BAMA fan since that is the only way to irritate his friends.
