Question- what is going on "statue" platform behind PMAC? its shaq?

General LSU question, does anyone know what/who is getting put on the big statue platform.. Between the PMAC and new practice gym? I heard rumors it is a statue, is this true of who? are we now going "bama" like on statues? I am not anti-this just curious.

lsu7171,well said, this is where I see the issue, I think everyone loves shaq, but when it is revealed it is him, the questions start and where does it stop? Pistol Pete, S Augustus, Volleyball, Dale Brown, Gymnastics, there are MANY who may deserve this, but where does it stop and who decides? It is tough...base it on college career only? pete is my #1 basketball choice and shaq would be my #2, both what about others?

I agree that Maravich should be first, does the fact that Maravich already has a building affect this decision?

I agree 100% but a dead guy can't make donations, and that is what this would have to be all about.
So which one will be smarter the statue or Shaq, I know which 1 will look dumber.

bpap, I see your point 100%, but Augustus had MUCH more hardware than Shaq (3 final fours, 3 poy) and here is one tidbit I think a lot of people don't know...how PC is LSU?- we have a female golfer in our Sports hall of Fame who went to LSU for ONE, that is ONE year (transfer from TCU) and while she had a great year the team finished 9th...so look out...Augustus would NOT be in my top few, but she would be in my top 10 for sure.
