This is probably been discussed at length but I just started on here so I was curious about everyone's thoughts on why LSU cant seem to develop quarterbacks. You'd think that as one of CFBs elite programs, that every now and then they'd accidentally back into a good quarterback but our only good quarterbacks lately have come thru transfers.
So does this lie with the coaching staffs not being able to develop guys? It just seems crazy that a program like LSU cant have a top 10 quarterback in the nation at least now and then.

There definitely has been a dry spell of freshman quarterbacks being developed. Let’s hope Miles Brennan changes that!

All new posters must declare their preference, Jordan Jefferson or Jarrett Lee?

Just how many elite QB do you think would want to play in Miles leather helmet scheme or the continuation of similar results you saw in O’s first two seasons?

O has opened up the offense. If you think he’s running Miles old offense your crazy. Hopefully we will see big things this year.

LSU has never had a history of having great QBs. Our two national championships last decade were with two game managers.

Both those QBs played in the NFL. I think we have 2 really good QBs now but CEO has got to get better play from the O line. Jarrett Lee was a good QB, but wouldn't stand in and take a hit. He'd panic and throw a pick. He should have taken boxing lessons...

The correct answer is Brandon Harris.

I said “similar results”, not similar schemes. Orgeron is trying. He made a huge mistake with Canada and got Les Miles results. Ensminger was hampered by bad o-line play so the results were mostly similar. I expect a big improvement this year.

Honestly this is the first time since Flynn that a QB has had time to develop. Burrow is providing Brennan with the time to hopefully be ready to show out as a Jr. that’s when we can see if things have turned a corner or not.

Offensive philosophy of current and past coaching staffs have stifled development. Combine that with the fact that LA HS football does not produce much passing QB talent and it makes perfect sense why we have struggled at throwing the ball competently. It’s no coincidence that Burrow, Mettenberger, Flynn, Russell, and Mauck were all from somewhere other than LA.

Not only time,he also provides a role model. We haven't had that in quite some time.Hopefully Burrow can increase his pocket awareness, and Brennan gets some quality snaps this year.I am fairly optimistic about the offense for the next couple of years
