He doesn't need to be as good as Burrow

If he’s 80% of Burrow we are at least competing for the Ship as long as we’re running the same offense and there’s no reason, not even Brady leaving, to think we won’t be running the same offense. Play calling passing downs and red zone will change to someone new and hopefully that can still also be 80% what it was with Brady.

What a great thing to argue: we have an expected quality starting QB with an expected quality backup Freshman to argue about whether the other Freshman will be also be a quality backup while we recruit two potential college QB stars for the ‘21 class.

If we average 80% of the ppg, that’s 38 ppg and, while it isn’t dominant like Burrows 47 ppg was, it’ll compete!

Max Johnson is bigger (height-wise) than I originally thought. He also looks pretty polished as a freshman.

Peter Parrish was absent from practice. Not a good look considering it's the first day: Transfer Portal on tap.

TJ still looks quite raw with his throwing motionand lower body: Will never be a starting QB at LSU. Transfer Portal in a year or two.

Honestly, Finley looked the worst of the group, as far as accuracy is concerned in that drill. The walkons were more accurate.

I’ve watched him since he was a freshman at St. Thomas. He’s not going to be a great qb, bottom line. His size and strength got him through high school. Different story in college.

Myles looks really good, dare I say poised with some swagger. While it's really important that he has the protections, reads, and adjustments down, the x-factor will be the way he carries himself doing it. I have full confidence that he has the brains for the former, but it will be interesting to see how quickly he turns the corner. As for the latter, I like this first look at his demeanor - he's really carrying himself like he's going all in.

None of the the QBs are near his level. Johnson is ahead of the curve for a freshman. Finley is a really, really raw specimen of a kid. The other 2 need lots and lots of work.

I wish Parrish would hang around. A modern football mind could find a way to get him involved in the offense even if sparingly, much like the plan was for Narcisse. Anything to make game planning harder for the opposition is a huge plus.

Marcel was 9 last year, let me know if somebody is wearing it on offense.

Brennan looks accurate and confident.

He'll become the true leader in the film room and the Saturday players-only practices.

You can tell Myles is an upper classman in that video. I think he’s going to have a great year as long as our O-Line comes together

He looks so confident and relaxed out there. He knows it’s his team.

I don't know if you saw it, but Myles said in an interview yesterday that they've been practicing players-only since the weekend after the national championship. This team will be special. Myles has finally come into his own as a player and leader and I couldn't be more proud of him.

Because I've seen him play in person and on film. He just simply doesn't have the arm talent to start here at LSU the way our program is rolling right now, the talent we have at qb position that he is going to be competing against, and the offense that we run. His accuracy really surprised me when I saw him in person (in unimpressive and underwhelming fashion) and he looked the same way in all of the film I've seen of him. His arm strength didn't impress me either. There's nothing wrong with being a backup at a program like lsu ffs, and idk why people get so defensive about it. I'm not knocking him personally or as a player, I just don't think he will be able to best out the caliber of qb talent that LSU has and is going to continue to have. I would bet that he ends up transferring after his redshirt freshman season. He's not beating out Myles this year or next, and he's not going to best out max Johnson either the season following. He is just clearly not as talented of a passer as Johnson is. Hell, Nuss is going to be a stud for LSU when he signs next class and it will be a battle between Johnson and Nuss for the qb job. Finley will be good enough to go play somewhere else, just isn't going to happen for him here...and there's nothing wrong with that at all. Geaux Fightin' Tigahs.

I did miss that. Thanks.

Who's the guy in the long black sleeved shirt? Looks like he's holding a little play sheet.
