this board is putting to much into this kid imo..i mean he was a solid qb recruit but far from the 5 star matt barkly type, if you think you will see this kid hit the field this season or even next then you're gonna be quite upset

I can so totally see this happening.

ZACH LEE: Coach Miles, I want you to put your left hand on the crystal football and swear to me that you will play me at QB this coming year ... or else I will sign with the Dodgers.

LES MILES: Sure Zach, anything you say Zach, how high Zach? Would you like me to go ahead and have a press conference announcing you as the starter? Shall I go ahead and start the heisman promo campaign?

Wow! Lots of negativity here.. Zach is on campus this summer working hard to be the best he can be.. His intentions are pure. He wants to be a Tiger. I'm sure he would love to EARN the starting job, but he understands that will be extremely tough to do. He is a team player and will be positive and supportive of whoever is playing.

Also, if you knew him, you would understand that he would never make demands on the coaching staff or use leverage in a way that is being intimated here.. He is a great kid and dreams of playing both sports as long as he can and he will be doing at LSU this fall. Count on it!

Dano, I think all LSU fans are thrilled that your nephew has enrolled for the summer and plans to play both sports at LSU.

Unfortunately, many Tiger fans are still feeling the sting of last season's failures. As such, some are now ready to proclaim Zach the savior of LSU football and are placing ridiculous expectations on him. Others are reacting against that and trying to be realistic.

But, yes, this board is a very negative place. There was plenty of negativity here even when we won the national title and most people couldn't stop calling Crowton "the wizard" and went around saying "Fear the Hat!" all day long. It's just the nature of this place.

I saw him play when I lived in Sherman Texas. He came in with an under manned team on a horribly sloppy field and nearly beat us. I remember one TD pass he made where the pass hit the receiver perfectly in stride on a fly pattern for a TD. The kid was on that night. I would not be surprised to see him do very well at LSU. HS football to SEC is a big step. Not sure about him coming in as a true Frosh. Hodson had a redshirt freshman year. Lee has all the tools. I have seen them.

There is no chance in hell he sees the football field as a true freshman and no amount of internet bullshite about how good he may be is going to change that fact.
Blame Dandy Don for this one. He's blathering on today about every incoming freshman Miles has recruited over the past year coming in and being an impact player. The Recruittards are relentless in their insistence that every incoming freshman is better than anyone else on the team, meanwhile hardly a single one ever receives significant playing time. The cycle just keeps repeating itself over and over every year. It's like people are trying to talk themselves into believing that everything is going to be ok.

98 percent of this board's posters weren't watching college football before Tebow.

He can RS for football and still play baseball in 2011.

One has nothing to do with the other. He will still be eligible for the MLB draft in 3 years.

QB Zach Lee (Posted on 6/20/10 at 5:49 p.m.) Does anyone have any first hand knowledge of seeing ZLee in action that would make you believe he is the next coming of Tommy Hodson as a Freshman Phenom?

Tommy Hodson started as a redshirt freshman. Just saying...

The opening game against aTm, Hodson came out and his 1st three passes were awful, nowhere near catch-able. He was almost flawless the rest of the game.

Not to quibble, but Hodson started for four years - 1986,87,88, and 89. How could he have redshirted?, I thought he signed in February of '86? (I may be wrong though.)

Because you have 5 years to play 4.

Ok. Just don't remember him signing in Feb. '85 (which he did I found out.)
My bad.
