2008-We all thought Lee was Les's boy and Jefferson would never see the field. Lee got hurt, but when he was healthy again Les didn't look for any reason to get Lee back on the field as some claim he did in 2011 just the other way around.
I never saw Lee as Miles boy. I believe Les and Garry agreed to have Hatch (option QB) and Lee (throwing QB). I think the plan was to bring the young Lee along slowly but Hatch got hurt and the defense was bad so Lee had to throw way more than expected. After that I believe Les went with his QB (JJ) and did some serious tweaking to the offense.

There have been more than enough exceptions to this "rule" people have made up about Miles never making a change. This is all because he didn't play Lee on 1/9. Now people use that one game to describe his whole career.
It was the National Championship game, you nitwit

2011-Jefferson played mostly in the second half after being insterted back in the lineup and it worked. The change of pace made it difficult for defenses to adjust and we were rolling along. When Lee struggled against Bama and he put Jefferson in, we won the game, and from then on he was throwing the ball well enough and the team chemistry was strong, so why mess with a good thing?
You are using that argument FOR Jefferson? LOL. Lee was rolling. Jefferson gets reinstated by Miles and immediately says he wants to be the starter. Most of the time you want a QB to say that...not when your team is absolutely rolling without you. He stepped up and made some plays vs Alabama, but lets not get carried away. We scored 9 points total and that includes OT. He didn't set the world on fire. He didn't deserve to be the starter. Les was infatuated with him...you apparantly do not remember the years of frustration with Jefferson. Then, in the biggest game in LSU's history - a national championship game against your big brother and former head coach, a game that really has set the tone for the SEC West since then...to lay an egg like that and NOT give Lee a chance has set the program back big time. Look at how we have finished since then.
I'm sorry, but you're trying to simplify it to just a single date like any other, when it's far worse than that.

Not LSU...The Harris family.

quote:Yes, he did. He was a better QB than Lee. He gave LSU the best chance to win against Alabama. Jefferson was not the reason why LSU lost that game.
He didn't deserve to be the starter.

And the problem with the offense was not Jefferson's fault.

You think Les approves of him going outside of the team for coaching? I haven't read this thread, so sorry for any redundancy.

Neither Jefferson nor Miles were.

The entire team looked out of sorts that whole game, yet we weren't officially out of it until late, although every LSU fan pretty much knew we had zero chance even when the score wasn't out of reach.

Whitfield teaches technique. The only reason Les doesntblike it is because he's scared a qb like Harris will figure out LM has no fricking clue what qb development really is

It's a QB camp. Both he and Jennings went last year. Other big named QBs go every year.
