It is ignorant to think that LSU should have passed more, and I'll cite a road win over a ranked conference rival when LSU controlled the clock and gained 266 on the ground as evidence of that.

All of this assumes, without any evidence whatsoever, that passing would not have scored enough points to make clock control irrelevant in the final minutes. We don't have to let it go down to the wire every time and rely on them running out of time.

It also assumes that passing more would not have opened up the run more, making it easier to score more points.

Since both of those things actually happened in the first quarter, it's almost certain that those assumptions are wrong.

The adult take is Les does not trust Harris.

Because Les Miles is arrogant and hard headed. And those qualities will cost this team a playoff spot. These boys deserve a better attitude from the coaching staff head.

Win was nice. First half offense was great. Second half game plan was an abysmal embarrassment that all but cost LSU the game.

Anyone who thinks the offensive game plan in the second was not problematic is being blatantly obtuse.

Last night was peak Rant, in terms of the stupidity flowing here (well, Game Day board, to be exact).

It was only a matter of time before Dak got into a groove, so Les could have either (a) place the lead and therefore the game in Brandon's hands, a true soph with extremely limited experience playing on the road in an SEC game or (b) place the lead in the hands of your Heisman candidate RB and a bad-arse OL, gashing them to the tune of nearly 6 ypc...and running clock and keeping the now-grooving Dak on the sidelines.

Always thought this one would be closer than it should be, glad we got out with the W and, yes, move on the better things next week as far as balance and playcalling are concerned.

If you see the defense stack the box it means you have to start throwing the ball. Miles, on the other hand, insists on running even more against a stacked box. This is going to cost us. We won't make the playoffs if we keep this up. And it seems everyone understands this except the head coach.

We were 10 feet away from losing our SEC opener just like last year. Tigers played great. But once teams "open it up" in the last quarter of the game playing "catch up" ball, a lot can happen. Look at the comebacks in major games yesterday. They can all be attributed too sitting on a lead.

Do you actually believe LSU can beat AU,UA and OleMiss with this game plan?

LSU almost beat ND with a qb who started all but 1 game last year.

So yeah, beating the top dogs in the sec is a cake walk

You think you're supposed to pass more when you're running 5.7 yards per carry.

...more than 14 times? Absofrickinglutely. If we had thrown it say 21 times and those extra 7 attempts came on early downs with play action we'd probably have the same number of rushing attempts due to extending drives that ended up stalling otherwise.

This is football 101 type of stuff. Your lack of knowledge is showing.

People are convinced (in their own minds only) that this will be the game plan for the rest of the season. As Harris develops, so will the offense. As much as anything else, Miles needed to protect Harris from himself last night. Second-half mistakes could have undone all the good of his first half performance. Unlike the ranters, Miles has to think about the next game, the game after that and the rest of the season not one half of one game.

I'll gladly give them the ball for three more minutes as long as we're putting points on the board.
Cant let their O win the clock. No defense can really take having to play six more minutes than LSU did. Keeping them off the field more than half the game was crucial. Mission: Accomplished. MSU is an undesirable ping pong opponent.

What are you going to say when the scoreboard inevitably shows a loss 3 times this year? Wait, I know. It will be the players' fault.
