He’s still hurt. Hurt his knee at some point. When fall practice started he was out here on crutches in a brace.
Assume he is still on team and people are assuming he’ll apply for a medical RS for this season.

Coaches shouldn't interfere in these. It's supposed to be fun, a show for the fans, the work for the fall is done, just go out and compete and don't get hurt.

Dutton in to pitch for Gold.

Dutton puts the first 3 on to start bottom of 5th via a single by Wyeth and HBP on Safford, then an RBI single by Crews.
Purple leads 4-3, no outs, runners on the corner and Gervase enters to pitch for Gold.

End of the 5th, Purple up 5-3
Gervase does a good job of limiting damage as purple pushed 1 more across on a sac ground out by Morgan; but Gervase gets Jobert to fly out and then strikes out Dugas.

Gets Milazzo to fly out to deep center. C. Doughty and McManus both get singles putting runners on corners; but then gets Stevenson to ground into a dbl play that’s bang-bang at first after Safford initially bobbled the ball fielding it.
Purple still leads 5-3.

Thompson hits leadoff double to LF corner and then proceeds to get picked off. Gervase walks next batter and then gets a fielder’s choice groundout as B. Doughty almost sails the throw to 2B and messes up DP.
2 outs and Vietmier on to pitch replacing Gervase.

I think this is where they see Reyz. Late game "shut your damn mouth" kinda guy. I think he could be a starter but it appears they like him on that short/intermediate, blow your candles out role.

Yeah, unfortunately I think you are right. Just really seems to be how they used him all fall.
Could change, and I’d prefer to see him as a starter; but we will see.
