why don't you know what provisional means?

I know what provisional means, and usually it involves something that is actually probable.

so being that the MAC gets a waiver, what would lead you to believe that it is improbable that the SEC would?

Sounds like y'all are talking about 2 different things.

that schedule may be total BS, but not because of the non round robin format.
the waiver is a mere formality.

I agree with that. If it were provisional according to the SEC it wouldn't be on a spreadsheet presented in that format.

Agreed.

I think LSULaw's last statement was saying the schedule was not provisional. Nothing to do with the waiver. He seemed to back away from that argument.

thats his original comment, pretty clear we were talking about the same thing

Why would the SEC schedule games so they have to ask for something there is a possibility that wouldn't be granted?

never said waiver wouldn't happen, just questioned the validity of the schedule since the SEC can potentially schedule without need for waiver.

With the NCAA waivers, no matter how trivial, are never an absolute given.

I think it happens like this...

Every SEC team will have to drop an OOC team.

Texas A&M will play all 12 sec teams and be ineligible for SEC championship.

Team #14 brought in to balance divisions in 2013.

Don't see them making us play three straight road games. I don't care who it is.

But to hang us with Florida for 20 freakin' years (and lately, they may feel the same way about us)

I've always been surprised this doesn't get more play from our fanbase. I don't think people really get how unfair this has been for LSU...us moreso than Florida lately since the east has been down compared to the west. To win a NC schedule is a HUGE factor and that cannot be overstated. What it basically means is that in any championship year LSU will have to beat AL, AUB, ARk. AND FLA....and in some year USC and GA will both be on the schedule too.

I would LOVE to trade either Tenn or Ga for Fla as our permanent opponent. I know teams cycle up and down...but the state of Fla has more D-1 recruits than any other state and on average Fla will always be stronger than Tenn or Ga. Its just not fair that our biggest rival in the West, Bama, gets to play one less really tough game than us EVERY YEAR just so Ala and Tenn can maintain their rivalry. If they want it that bad I say just put them in the same division.

You must not have seen the press conference at A&M yesterday. They will be treated exactly as every other member starting day 1.

The schedule will be unbalanced with 13 teams. It is simple math. You can either have some teams play a different number of conference games, or you can have every team play the same number of conference games but a different number of divisional games. While not ideal, it makes more sense to play the same number of conference games, which is what the schedule being discussed accomplishes.
