My expectations were very low entering the season, but I’ve been very impressed with the team so far. Here’s why:

-The lack of penalties this year is a nice change and shows the team has grown in discipline.
-Strength and conditioning flexed against a physical veteran Miami team.
-The personnel adjustments being made against Auburn have me excited and I applaud the innovation.
-The team is playing solid football and mistakes are minimal which is going to make it incredibly difficult for ANY opponent to have a high level of efficiency.
-Coach O showed some fight in going for that 4th down against Miami toward the middle of the field.

I didn’t like the hire of Coach O, but I admire the effort I’m seeing.

Edit: I changed my mind on point 1 after Auburn game, yikes.

With the exception that the offense is not very good at all, even against bad competition...yeah I've been impressed.

Yeah, but SLU was not a very inspiring opponent. I can understand the lack of urgency there.

While I agree, that game should've been used to develop more of a relationship between Burrow and the strength of the team that we've heard about all preseason, the wide receivers.

That didn't happen. We should've run them out of the stadium. They were in Burrow's face all night. Tougher opponents are coming.

Where is Giles in the game plan? He reminds me of Crabtree when he was at Texas Tech. All they do is throw the ball. I'm not saying we should be one dimensional, but we are hardly using the strength we have on offense.

Auburn played a cupcake and scored over 70 points. The one good thing I read is that Auburn fumbled a lot in that game.

I think we had intentions to throw the ball a lot more against SELU. But as you said, they were in burrows face all night and we had to go max protect and that totally changed the game plan. We have to get the o line fixed. If we can’t, then you’ve seen pretty much all we can do, and it’ll be another boring, disappointing year offensively. If they can mend the line, I believe you’ll see more of what we want to do.... what we’d all love them to do. It’s gonna be tough this week and in several of our games though. I look for O and E to play it safe unfortunately. I’m not sure we have any other option.

So you liked 15 plays for 62 yards in a half....against SLU?

Great job Ed

There is lack of urgency and there is getting manhandled offensively by a team that really should not even be on the same field as LSU.

But go ahead and ignore the red flags and alarm bells that game set off.

You're on the wrong website. This website is for "O" haters.

When you have to go max protection against an FCS school, then you have some very serious issues.

That is unacceptable, especially in the second game of the season. Good teams, championship teams (as O said LSU is) impose their will on teams like SLU.

I’m not saying this train won’t come off the rails at some point, but so far they haven’t. Just pointing out some positives from a tough situation.

Well thank goodness LSU survived SLU.

And the penalties thing is wrong. Undisciplined is a understatement.

But beat the drum, the product on the field will be the ultimate judge.

No one will remember but the problems with the offense don't go away because of that. The bottom line is the LSU offense struggled against an FCS defense no matter how one tries to slice and dice it. The final score was not indicative of what took place with the LSU offense.

But we didn’t struggle against a top 10 team week before... what’s your narrative now?

The signs were there against Miami too. The offense had a couple of big plays but wasn't sustaining drives or anything like that. Re watch the game and if you can't see problems on the offense in the Miami game too then I don't know what to tell you. Hopefully they can improve or it will most likely be a rough year.
