I watched the replay last night. Right when the runner touched 1st, his foot was about 2 inches off the bag.

The USCe homeboy announcers wouldn't admit it was a correct call, even after the replays showed it was correct.

Right.

His knee is on the ground in the first 2 pictures.

Only in the last two is it off the ground, as he pushes with his hand, to get back on the bag.

Why would he do that if he knew he was in contact with the bag when he caught the ball? That's the biggest giveaway watching the replay. He knows he is off the bag
