I hear all the time about how season ticket prices need to increase and and everybody should join taf in order for Lsu to compete in the sec, but everybody knows that the real money comes from the corporate big dogs in the high dollar seats. I know tradition fund prices and seat prices are continually increasing in Tiger Stadium, but my questiion is are suites and stadium club seat prices increasing by an equal percentage as regular seats?

I know that the suite tickets are set and can't be changed for some years. I'm not sure how many. My father-in-law has a suite (a smaller one-16 people) and after everything (alcohol, food,&ticket) it comes to about 400$/game/person. I've heard him say numerous times that they couldn't up the prices b/c they have some sort of contract.

The donation required for stadium club seats did increase (not this year but in following years). There are three and five year contracts for those seats. We had a three year, renewed this year, and our donation is going to increase beginning next year I believe. I can't remember the specifics though.

At the end of the day we still need to realize how good we have it compared to the money required to attend games at other major programs.
Best value in college football.

You can only say that for so long. Tickets in the lower bowl (with donation) are running well over $100 per game. Actually, $100 is on the low side. Is this actually a bargain? This is actual cost, not what many people are paying for scalped tickets. This also does not take into account the donations and ticket price increases we will see over the next couple of years.

I agree. Tennessee sideline seats are more than our stadium club donation if the article in the Reveille that came out when LSU first announced the increases was correct.

eta: mud, will do

Maybe that is just something for new buyers. Our tickets in the S.E. endzone were around $65 each after donations, etc.
Again, talk to someone at Alabama, Tenn, Florida, Texas, etc. See what their prices are.

I know it sucks to have to pay these prices, but that is the hand life has delt us. When compared to the good time to be had out at LSU on game day and the product on the field, LSU is a steal of a deal.

Tickets between the 40's are too low and should be ridiculously high. People would pay.

not sure on the exact figures, but when the tradition fund first kicked in this was a big problem.

compared with the rest of the SEC, end zone seats were about the same or slightly less. however, the prime seats between the 30s were far cheaper at LSU in comparision to Florida, Tennessee, Alabama, etc.

Lets compare (as far back as I can remember):

80s & 90s: no tradition fund & shitty teams

2000s: tradition funds & great teams

I'll pay for a better product!

We too are a suite owner of a 40 seater. Contracts with TAF for the suite only locks in the price of the suite. The price of tickets and all other asessments, donations and etc. go up just like every thing else in the stadium. Without these person's/corporations donating the big bucks our athletic department and TAF would not be able to make the necessary changes and/or improvements to the athletic facilities provided for our athletes to compete in and for your enjoyment. Just remember that the state owns the stadium, but does not repair nor make improvements to it. All of the funds needed to run and improve LSU athletics comes directly from supporters and ticket sales, etc. I personally think they do their best to give us what is expected.

Those who complain have no idea what is involved in the day to day operations of our outstanding top-notch program.

what a stupid statement.

you have no idea what a person does or does not know about the runnings of the athletic department.

being able to regurgitate the TAF mantra doesn't mean that you know anything about those runnings, any more than saying you question the structuring of the fees means that you don't.

also, complaining about the structure of the fees does not imply that you are totally against any and all fees.

Maybe so, but I think that being close to one who is on the Board of Directors of TAF substantiates what I have said. Maybe you should look into it more your self or get more involved.

Your reply just reminded me of why I shouldn't read the garbage that people write on this site.

Someone told me that if you want to get in on the season ticket deal at Georgia as a newbie, you would have to pony up around $10K in donations.

I do agree that some of the lower bowl between the 30 seats at LSU are probably not charged enough.

donate less than 10k over here and see if that gets you tickets.

Tigerwoman, shake these haters off. Stick around. I will say that the prices are getting a little out of hand. A friend of a friend just offered me four tickets in the bowl for Appl State for $480...that seems overly steep. I said no thanks.

Granted, they are on the 35, in the lower bowl, but that price for that game doesn't make sense.
