Thank you, good sir!

Do you have a prediction? It looks like State can hit lefties pretty well. I'm going to guess 2-1 with a loss tonight.

i think that stat is inflated a bit imo...poche is probably the best lefty they will face this year

we should/need to sweep this weekend

This is a key weekend for Lange he needs a good game to bounce back from this short injury. He hasn't been the same since.

The way they are playing there is no reason not to sweep, but doing that on the road in the SEC is always a tough task, and they have a veteran club playing their last series at home. Anything less than 2/3 would be disappointing though, because we are the superior team.

Lange's start tomorrow is easily the biggest storyline of the weekend.

they are 2-8 in their last 10 games and we have been lights out on the road this year

I do think we should sweep this weekend but I think if we go 6-3 and win a couple in the SEC TOURNEY, we are easily a top 8 seed.

The way it looks is

LSU and Texas A&M are locks
Vandy and Florida are on the bubble. I think because Vandy plays Florida it is likely that the winner of that series gets a top 8 seed if the SEC is limited to 3 top 8s.

Biggest storyline now? Or after the weekend? Right now it has to be State's collapse and the possibility of this being the dagger.

State needs way more than a series win to get back into the postseason discussion. They are done. Lange is the bigger story for either team.

State is already out of the NCAA tourney unless they win the sec tournament. They may not even make the SEC tourney

For our championship chances we need Lange back to his early season self. He should be a beast for 3 years here but this may be our best chance to win a title while Lange is here. We will take a huge step back next year on offense.

That looks about right. Barring a total collapse during the last two weeks, a sweep this weekend would just about lock up a national seed for us. A&M and the winner of the Vandy/Florida series will be in great position for national seeds as well, and the loser of Vandy/UF should still host a regional.

I think it's further than this weekend. I don't think this weekend improves our resume in any way. If we finish 20-9 in the sec meaning we are 45-10 overall. With a great record vs the top 50 I don't see how we won't be a top 8.

6-3 or 7-2 needs to be our goal, at this point one series against the worst in the West doesn't determine our post season position.

State is not a lock to be out. Their RPI is going to fly up the next few weeks regardless of results (LSU at home and 2 road series). If they win the next 3 series, that gets them to 13 wins at least. And that's possible (small chance) and puts them on the bubble. I am not saying they will. I don't think they do. If they win this series, they still have hope. If they lose it, they are done with only Ole Miss and Tenn left.

I agree. First time in a while the SECT wouldn't matter for us.
