Having lived outside of Louisiana, no one gives a damn about college baseball. Women’s Basketball is the number 3 sport at most school when it comes to attendance.

Just look at ESPN, the number of womens basketball games televised vs baseball. Most people only watch college baseball come postseason play and even then it’s not a must watch.

I live 80 miles from milwaukee (org from west monroe),so I'm telling those guys to stay out of the Taverns up there(forget the beer except after they win) and they will be ok. Geaux Tigers!!!!!!

I don't care if an LSU fan hates Wade, hates anything he did, etc...you should be concerned the AD did this. Completely and utterly pointless to do it before the tourney. Guy doesn't care about anybody but himself. LSU had the NOA, didn't release anything, fire Wade, release everything and all Hell breaks loose. Woodward signed the death penalty for LSU for a bit.

This tournament is our Alamo. These guys have to come out and fight and prove that Wade was the guy.

People act like LSU basketball is bigger than Will Wade...at this moment, I'm not sure it is. It's been literally DECADES since we've had such excitement. We made a couple of runs with Brady, but it was never truly the same feeling. This is such a gut punch, such a horrible feeling...I don't know, feels like this is the end of something and there is no light at the end of the tunnel

It's the first game of the evening session so it should start on time. The game before us starts at 3:30

Yea it’ll start on time and the game after will be about 40 minutes after ours is over

This tournament is about to be borderline emotional. This team has been so exciting to watch past 4 seasons from Waters, Mays, Smart, Watford, Reid and Days..now its all going to be blown up.
Hope we stick it to the ncca and make a run

The Brady years were a never ending cycle of one step forward...one step back. He would have a great season (2000, 2006). Then immediately follow it up with a last place season. LLSU crapped on themselve in the tournament, but the 2005 season was solid. They reached the Final Four the next season and everyone thought that was going to finally be the springboard to consistent great play. WRONG!!! With three starters returning from that 2006 LSU finished LAST in the SEC West in 2007.

Johnson started out great...the quickly became worse that Brady. Jones was a 5 year waste of time which everyone knew would be the case. There was a reason he was at North Tx. for 11 years and no major program wanted to hire him during that time.

Wade brought enthusiasm, winning and hope back to a dead program. That is now over, and it is almost stunning to think that after LSU's next loss there quite literally may not be a single scholarship player left on the roster. It will be akin to starting a program from nothing, and it is hard to imagine a "big name" will want to leave what is surely a great program and great situation to do that. No matter how much Woodward spends.

And to that end, don't you start to wonder where the money is going continue to come from? You've committed $10 million per year just to the football HC. That doesn't include his staff, or the fact that you had to go to your donors to get the money to pay Orgeron's ridiculous buy out...that Woodward unnecessarily saddled LSU with. You're paying the WBB coach $2.5M per year. She is a tremendous coach. But LSU is NEVER going to get any financial ROI on that investment. You're also paying one of the highest baseball HC salaries in the nation. Most schools don't have to worry about that because they don't really care about baseball.

NOW you're going to have to ask your donors for more money to pay the players large NIL deals. That is a huge aspect of the arms race and and your rival to the west just set the market. Louisiana doesn't have a ton of oil barons just looking for tax write offs. One would think eventually the credit card Woodward is putting all of these massive expenses on may someday be maxed out.

Basketball was on the cusp of becoming a cash cow for the university and Woodward just wanted his guy...wanted to do it his way. He has to start getting questioned very soon.
