Rebuilding an offensive line takes some time. Especially when breaking in a new quarterback. But after watching the tide’s spring game I saw a defense that will take over games. Defense, a quarterback who can’t make mistakes and nick saban. By season's end, alabama could be the second best team in the country and SEC.

I was not aware of the infallibility of the bama QB… what's that all about?

Wow, OSU has really moved up in the world since they got rid of Les Miles! There is hope for us yet!

OSU will have to prove it to me. THey have a very, very hard schedule next year. However, they did get a lucky draw of Big 12 north teams (if there is such a thing).

This leads him to make this claim:

Could that awesome display of defense have had ANYTHING to do with his first comment about the offensive line w/ a new QB?

According to his logic, LSU should have repeated as National Champs last year, even though we were breaking in a new QB & co-defensive coordinators-other than that, we should have been in the NC game!

Bama at 5 makes me laugh. Really, if you think about it, the reasoning this man uses is a joke to put them at #5. First off, they lost their starting QB, and a huge chunk of their OL, especially their center and Top notch LT. So the defense looked great in the spring game? Really? How surprising that a defense looks great when an inexperienced OL and QB are starting and playing. Hmmm...

This reminds me a lot of LSU last year where people thought the offense was solid based on the spring game, when it turned out our defense (expected to be great) just sucked and made them look better. I see the same for Bama blowers here.

Winning with Les' players! They'd all have to be red shirt seniors for that to be the case, just like Les is now winning or losing with his own players. Seems to me OSU took a big step up with Gundy, and we took a big step down with Les. Both programs will have a real good idea of what they have this year.

>>4. Southern Cal
The Trojans will be breaking in a new quarterback and they have to replace eight starters on defense including linebackers Brian Cushing, Rey Maualuga and Clay Matthews.<<

New quarterback and EIGHT starters being replaced on defense, and they STILL rate 'em number 4. Wow.

I can see it. When you consider Pete Carroll's success this decade, when you consider the quality of recruiting and depth... why wouldn't you consider them highly ranked? Their schedule and the Pac 10 is still winnable for them.

at OSU, perhaps Miles was winning because of Gundy's offense? Gundy was the offensive coordinator then. Gundy sure has a pretty stout and balanced offensive look.
