If the numbers are that big, expect women's basketball to get ALOT of exposure next year.

That was at 9 on a Friday night on ESPN. This was Sunday afternoon on ABC and Iowa beating USC made the hype bigger. 8 at least.

Holly Rowe during the trophy presentation said it was the most watched Women's basketball championship game ever. Not sure how she got the numbers that fast.

I am VERY skeptical of this #. Lets be honest here, WBB is not very popular so to say they are pulling NFL #s is just not realistic.

The game had no competition on tv. It was on a Sunday afternoon. It was on network tv for the first time ever.

All reasons for pulling solid #'s, but the same as a week 4 NFL game? I doubt that a MBB game would pull that (opening round didn't)...let alone a WBB.

The mens national title game usually averages between 17-22M for comparison. I think this was just a perfect storm to create a massive following for that game. I was still shocked by the numbers, but I believe them. The huge amount of discussion still going on today around the country about the game kinda shows a lot of people tuned in.
