I believe LSU will start off top 5-10 in most national polls based off what is returning and what we have coming in.

Duke, UNC, UCLA, Gonzaga, Kansas, Oregon, Kentucky, and Vanderbilt (dont laugh, they have a loaded recruiting class themselves)

Villanova loses a lot, as does Arizona, West Virginia, Xavier, Virginia.

Next season should be an exciting one with the great recruiting classes being built by a few schools. Very top heavy in terms of recruits playing with other top notch recruits. Not spread out much like in most years.

I would be shocked if we started out ranked. Being Top 25 after a year you dont even make the tournament isn't easy.

Hell, our 1990 team was preseason number 2 with the class we had with Shaq and Roberts after prop 48.

They may not be too 10, but they should be based off what we have along with how we perform in NIT.

We started 19 with Ben Simmons coming in. If we get to make NIT finals or win could see us being ranked around 18. As of now I think we'll be 22-25.

Wouldn't be surprised if we only receive votes.

Our absolute ceiling would be 20, but with the rest of the sec being so good I doubt enough voters put us in the top 25 to start

Who here believes outside of possibly Kentucky, because of notoriety, that LSU is a worse team than Tennessee, Mississippi St, and Auburn, based off talent and coaching?

I think yall are selling us short. Real short. Maybe it is tempering expectations out of fear of a big letdown.

LSU could maybe find its way into the lower end of the top 25. Any higher is unlikely.

We'll have to wait and see what happens with the draft because there are numerous players who decide to leave school even though there is little chance they'll be drafted. But assuming everyone makes good decisions, LSU will likely be picked somewhere around 4-6 in the SEC.

Auburn is set to return virtually everyone of note from this year's team, plus maybe their starting center who was ineligible.

Tennessee only loses one key player from this year's team.

Kentucky is Kentucky.

Alabama and A&M have several guys eligible to return, but they also have two big players likely to leave (Sexton and Williams)

The good news is rankings don't mean anything in college basketball. UVA started this season unraked and went on to dominate the ACC
