I LOVE LSU-UF every year. That's a big one, and it's part of LSU Football.

I agree! Nine game schedule is the way to go.

Ponamsky said Saban commented that it was not good for a graduating class to not have played all the teams in the conference.

Not that any Tiger fan cares much, but not all Alabama fans are married to the idea of playing UT every year. I wouldn't want to lose the Auburn game or put it into a rotation, but the Tennessee game is just not that important anymore. Most Alabama fans would admit to this, I think. I disagree that there has been some conspiracy to insure that Bama's schedule is easier than other West division teams. Historically that simply hasn't been the case.

You got to remember that historically a Bama graduate wasn't in charge of scheduling like the SEC has in place now.

I'm ok with this take on the situation as long as bama fans can interpret our viewpoint without calling us pussies. It's bullshite we had to play in the Swamp and Carolina last season while you chodes have a date with Missouri and Tennessee. Also, there was a great write-up made by someone on the rant (I know, the rant, but it was thorough) on why it was pretty fishy Alabama and UGA aren't playing next season, while we get an early trip to Athens this upcoming season.

With that said, I enjoy the Florida game and enjoy the publicity. But i can understand why Coach Miles is frustrated that he has to deal with Florida while Saban has played Doolander the past years.

I guess I'm just a fan of having a tough schedule to play. It's more entertaining.

I understand what you are saying and I agree with you---up to a point.

The problem comes up when your completion for the west is playing SEC east teams with one win between them last year and LSU is playing SEC east teams with 13 wins between them.

History tells us that the SEC will manipulate schedules to Alabama's advantage ( and to a lesser degree, Ga.)if it is given the opportunity.
Debate if you will the reasons, but they seem obvious.
The only way to avoid this is to give up the permanent rivalries an d go to a systemmatic round robin schedule, that changes every year.
Until the Conference is able to demonstrate the ability to be even handed and fair, I am willing to to go to the round robin, just to make sure chamnpionships aren't determined in Birmingham.

I have to throw the bullshite card on this one. Ive heard MANY bama homers start crawfishing when asked if they want to give up the UT game.

This.

Then next year the systems repeats itself.

I don't think that LSU fans are wrong to be upset about the comparative strength of schedules. Alabama's schedule this year is not near as tough as the Tigers'. I think that Alabama had a decent complaint about their opponents' bye weeks in the 2010 season. A lot of Tide OOC games looked really tough at the time they were scheduled, but the opposition by the time the game was played was not as good as hoped. I am fine with dropping Tennessee as a rival game. That said, what are the odds that if you replace one team with another, or go to a rotation scheme, that perennial powers will sometimes field teams that don't live up to their history? Won't there always be that chance, that a historically great team like UT may tank for several years?
