Craig Bell has been his longtime head assistant since KOS took over at FL.
Has major in-roads to Florida it seems. And has 8 years of MLB scouting experience.

Bell was an assistant coach at Wellington High School in Palm Beach County, Fla., in 1999-2000 and helped the Wolverines to the Class 6A state championship. He was the head coach of the Palm Beach Lakes High School baseball team between 1990-98 and also coached Palm Beach Post 12 in American Legion from 1990-95. Bell earned Coach of the Year accolades from The Palm Beach Post and The Sun Sentinel in both 1994 and 1995 and collected the Palm Beach County Coaches' Association's Class 6A top coaching honor in 1994 and 1997.
Bell served as the Seattle Mariners' Supervising Area Scout for Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina in the years spanning 2000-07.

"The one word that describes Craig is 'instincts,'" head coach Kevin O’Sullivan said. "His instincts as a coach and an evaluator are solid. He has surrounded himself with great people. He has on the field teaching knowledge on all aspects of the game. We have to be able to evaluate the right player and not go after the guy that’s going to sign (professionally) and not show up. He has the right mentality to make sure these kids have the right makeup we’re looking for and have the toughness that we need to win in the Southeastern Conference.

I prefer O’Sullivan to anyone else on the list.

Sully is not coming here. He’s got some domestic baggage that could sink a ship. Unfortunately he may not even be able to keep his job in Florida.

He's in his 14th year at UF. Seems like he has kept his job pretty good.

Seeing as this stuff happened at the beginning of this month they may not have had time to deal with it
Not that I think they will do anything, I can’t stand the man but he wasn’t at fault in any way for what happened

I think what people don't get is that LSU baseball has the ability to go get a coach that has won championships. When we hired Nick and Skip how solid was either program at that time? Dinardo had football way down from where LSU baseball currently sits so we weren't going to go out and find someone with titles on their resume. Maybe we end up with Vitello and that would be good but I think we need to shoot for someone with a fuller resume first.

O Sullivan is very much like the Wichita State coach from 80s early 90s. Elite team but can't win the big one. He got lucky in 2017 when Oregon state sat their ace and we beat the beavers. Florida had our number that year. OSU would have beat their arse.

Got lucky? LSU had all the confidence in the world rolling into the finals with the consecutive wins over Oregon State which finished 56-6. They weren't 56-4 going into those last two games against LSU because of one pitcher. They had a ton of talent, but LSU was also really talented and shocked them by winning two in a row. Florida just showed up and outplayed us to win the national championship. No luck there.

Thank god. Oh and judging by the downvotes on this thread and the recent threads on this board excited Osullivans not getting hired makes me wonder what has changed?
