Great man, great coach, great AD. Parkview sports were a powerhouse while he was there. He made men out of boys. He never forgot a face or a name of anyone he coached and even remembered siblings and parents years later. God bless him and his family.

Definitely taught me how to man up and completely erased that ghetto thug image that I thought was cool growing up. I wish more black kids would have coaches like Kenny Guillot.
Sad thing is he'd probably be cancelled in today's world for being so insensitive.
Kudos to you
I was on the receiving end of his wooden paddle a few times in the mid 70’s when he was a Trojan coach. Over the next 40 years when occasion put us together, gas station, supermarket, ballgame etc...he always took a moment to say hello, asked how’s life and always remembered who I was.
I was fond of him and the responses on this board are a testament to his good fortune while he lived his life on earth with the grace of God. He will be missed.

Yes this morning. I didn’t want to post anything until it was public knowledge

I had the pleasure of coaching against him. He whipped our arse like no other.
A Renaissance man in coaching. Always thought outside the box. Had great trick plays, unorthodox special teams and offense that worked like a machine.
He brought in flexbone and option coaches from all over the country and treated them like kings for a weekend of exchanging ideas and boiled crawfish.
He molded countless young men and coaches.
I tip my hat one final time to Coach Guilliot. Rest In Peace

He was a blessing to our whole family. So sorry for your loss.

Thanks for all the stories and comments. That’s the Kenny I knew. He was from the “ it don’t cost you nothing to be nice” school of thought

He was my o line coach at Nichols. Great Coach and better man. He came to my house and recruited me. Hate it man. He was one of the good ones.

Man this sucks.
I echo everyone in this thread. I had the pleasure of playing 4 years for him and then coaching 3 years under him at PBS. He was a salt of the earth, God fearing gentleman who was a leader of men. His players would take a bullet for him.
He will be missed but he impacted countless lives and made everyone around him a better person & that will live on.

Really sad news. Coach Guillot was the man.
You can see how far Parkview football has fallen without his leadership and character.

Growing up in Tara, everyone, even the neighborhood Catholic High and Episcopal guys thought Coach Guillot winning the state title in only Tara's fourth year in existence to be bad @ss, we were proud of him and Tara. A legend!
Coach Al Robelot kept those lungs and cardio up through the summers at Tara pool.
Those Broadmoor and Aquatic Club potheads only won with sheer massive volume/enrollment. Forgive me Coach Price(even he lived in Tara).

What’s crazy is that the great men like that that helped raise all of us are slowly passing away. Scares me for the next generation.

Best coach that ever coached me, back in his Woodlawn days. His players would run through a wall for him. Interestingly, he was succeeded by the worst coach to ever coach football at Woodlawn.
He made a lot of men out of boys. I love you Coach Guillot.
Love testimonies like this.
Wished I’d had chance to meet this man and play under him.
