The interesting thing will be his weight though, which may make NFL teams think he would be better suited to playing safety. In that case the Nebraska CB would be the #1 CB, but PP would still be drafted above him as a safety in the 5-10 range.

Patrick Peterson said the other day that since the season started his weigh is down to 207 lbs.

OK, I hate to put a halt to everything and be Corky about this, but WTF does that mean? I have no reference to what an epsilon is in terms of measurement. I know it is a letter in the Greek alphabet.

Is it a wide canyon?

Is it a "c-hair"? Smaller than a "c-hair"?

A smidge?

Like a big dog?

I need to know.

PP is far too Elite to be moved to safety. Forget what he weighs.

Ya - right now it's hard to compare them directly if you are someone like Kiper... not having seen them play against each other or against common opponents.

However, here's what I see: LSU has put out some damn fine NFL DB's over the years... guys who have played at a high level in the league a long time.

Peterson is in my book, 5-6 notches above the best we have ever had.

(note for the old guys, I never saw Casanova, so I can't comment on that, but best since say 1975)

After the NFL combine, PP gets the #1 rank (if not before). Kiper may be the worst evaluator of talent ever. I truly don't know how he got his job.

I dont understand why everyone gets so bent out of shape over something like this. I think PP is a great player but maybe this dude from Nebraska is great as well. For some reason everyone discredits anyone that doesnt place us or our players #1. Mel Kiper talked about Drake Nevis last week and how he was skyrocketing up the board. I dont know how great Mel Kiper is but he has talked about our players the last two weeks on sportscenter.

Get over the inferiority complex.

Any chance in hell that he would come back for his senior year?

frick Kiper. Before the season started he didn't even have PP in his top 25 players

wrong. Kiper's always had PP high, he really likes him. McShay didn't have him in his preseason top 20, I believe he was 21.

eta: another thing, PP actually moved up from 9 to 7 overall on Kiper's board, so please stop the whining.

We will see come draft day. There is a lot of time and games to be played between this time and now.

BTW Mel Kiper works for ESPN. If he was that good he would be working in the NFL.

Only way he gets drafted as a safety is if he bombs the forty and runs like a 4.5... he's too good at coverage to be stuck back there
Depends on the scheme. A team that runs a lot of cover 2 needs good tackling corners and good covering safeties. Lots of teams in the NFL will run schemes that require their safety to have corner coverage skills.

I think some evaluators see him as being a natural safety in the NFL because of his size.
Not me.

That's fine with me, put him at 20. I want him back in '11. Next year he can be No. 1 unquestioned CB champion of the world!

The only way PP isn't the first corner picked is if he doesn't go pro after this year. Showing how good he is at returning punts and kicks this year has locked him in at the first DB of the board.

PP is on another level, Kiper and the other guy are fools. Remember when Kiper had Tyson Jackson rated outside the 1st round and pro scouts were drooling over him for their 3-4 defenses. I remember cory webster, and he has become an excellent NFL cornerback, but PP is a freak, he rarely gets beat.

No you are dead on, Kiper is an idiot. Hell Peterson may be better than Champ Bailey at this stage
