Possible for a punter to be considered an all-time great?

Watching LSU-Alabama from 2011 and watching Brad Wing flip the field in the 4th qtr.

Forgot how much I loved that guy.

That guy could kick the living crap out of a football and with a left footed spin. He and Miles were superb in that gump game youre talking about. Still unaware how Miles lured that guy to BR.

See Ray Guy.

He had a great year but it went down after that.

Loved the attitude displayed on the taunting against Florida.

But, he was such a weapon.

Could kick a mile, but, he also has to have the record for number of punts downed inside the 5 yard line.

When I read the title of your post, my mind jumped to Brad Wing and that game.
He was definitely the difference in that game.

Tyrann Mathieu and Ron Brooks will go down and the greatest duo of gunners in the history of the sport. It seemed like they were under the punt before the return man.

Go back and watch the auburn game in 2010. Auburn outgained LSU by about 200 yards but Brooks and Tyrann downed about 5 punts inside the 5, which kept us in the game.

That’s why I think you shouldn’t leave your best players off of special teams. There’s a stigma of injuries around special teams, but they’re really not all that common for gunners and return men. Having electric guys in those positions can literally change the outcome of your season (see Georgia, Oregon, Arkansas and Alabama 2011)

He truly was a weapon at LSU. Add Donnie Jones to that list.
