This seems to be our glaring weakness at the moment. We have several freshmen coming in that play on the line. One of them potentially the missing link?

Doubtful. O-line and D-line are probably the toughest positions to have success at as a freshman. You are just at a disadvantage against other guys who are older and stronger than you are. Thomas, Bradford and Perry all will be starters LSU eventually but not year 1.

Will they start working out at LSU during summer?

We have not stud tackle prospect coming in. Interior of the line isn’t the problem.

In June yes but that’s not enough time to unseat guys who have been there for years.

Yes Ingram was an exception as was Charles but that year we had nobody else to turn to. They were forced into playing. This year we have several interior lineman like Lewis, Hines and Magee plus Ingram if he is cleared. We could use a tackle but the only true tackle in the class is Thomas Perry band he’s only a RT. Bradford is very athletic for his size but he needs to lose some fat like Kardell does.

OG a little easier to pick up as a fr
OT are usually not ready but there are exceptions

Kardell Thomas projects more as a guard
Bradford may be that tackle in the class but he was heavy and probably needs to lose some weight to be a factor
Thomas Perry probably would benefit from a redshirt

Wire is the one that needs to step up
I'm not sure what Rosenthal's best position will be since he came in as a DL and has gotten work at OT and OG during spring camp

Dare is a LT all the way. They would be wasting the gift of his size and long arms putting him anywhere else.

If we can't get anyone better than Deculus at RT then it's gonna be the same shite as last year on the OL.

Imo Bradford is like Deculus and Charles. An athletic OG who would struggle at the OT position. Kardell is a pure road grader OG. Not a chance he could ever play OT.

Only good thing is the offense might hide that weakness at OT by more designed quick routes to get the ball out quick
That's what the spread is for, to help those teams that were out talented especially on oline.

At least give Deculus the benefit of the doubt before completely judging him. I think having Chaisson back might be the most beneficial thing for our offensive tackles. If they can learn to block him off the edge then they should be able to handle anyone we play.

If the whole RPO thing is really true the line should benefit since they will be moving forward in run blocking schemes instead of having to drop back into pass pro. Deculus and Charles are both big, strong bulls that should feast run blocking. Burrow has to do his part getting the ball out quickly.

We need a plug and play tackle badly for the next class. On both sides of the ball actually.

I am a little out of the know on this. How do we feel about James Cregg as the O-Line coach. Do we believe he is preparing the line to succeed at best capability?

Deculus does decent against normal sized DE....in the Spring game he had trouble containing a quick DE that only weighed 235LB.....because he got around him.....

So he has trouble against a pass rush specialist. That isn't a good thing. Chaisson is 238, and pretty much every team in the SEC has someone similar to him. And it wasn't like it was someone of Chaisson's caliber who was beating him. I saw him get absolutely worked by Travez Moore.

Could Ray Parker be the answer perhaps not in 2019, but down the line?

He is listed at 6-5, 270, and we know the coaches told him he could try tight end first. But we can hope that Parker may realize his best chance to contribute is to play tackle.
