Positigers, 10 wins does not equal improvement. This is why.

a.) UF, Bama, Georgia, Tenn, Ole miss all having sub par years...
b.) ARK and Aub improved more than we did. What happens next year if Ark and Aub are still better than us, and Bama and UF and Georgia all make comebacks? We are a 5 loss team again at our current "improvement" rate.
c.) We finished the same in the SEC as last year, 3rd place, but are going to the 4th slotted SEC bowl.
d.) If we finish in the top 10 BCS, its because:
1. our OOC opponents sucked
2. Teams that usually beat us in the SEC had down years.
3. We are playing a barely top 20 BCS team in our bowl game, meaning an expected W keeps us in the top 10 as other top 10 opponents play each other forcing the loser out of the top 10. Meaning we aren't playing up into the top 10, merely surviving as other teams with much harder bowl games than us might fall below us with a loss.
e.) We have not played one complete game as a team in three years now. Not once have we performed close to 80% of our potential.
Before you decide to make an OOC bowl game argument, know that there were almost too many bowl games to fill this year as there almost weren't enough bowl eligible teams to go. College football and its money hunger is overloaded with bowl games these days.

Three years straight and im sure they would be fired.

You'd be pissed if you won the lottery because of all of the taxes you'd have to pay wouldn't you?

You obviously didn't see the Bama game. Wake up.
Posted on 12/28/10 at 9:59 pm to EricB
But it doesn't equal a decline either!

I can tell by just all of the words you used in that post that you are trying WAYYYY too hard to be a dick.

What if its 11 wins? Still no improvement?

Posted on 12/28/10 at 10:01 pm to EricB
Teams like Bama and Florida are down because better teams like us beat them.
How much more improved will Auburn and Arky be with Cam and Mallett gone?
When teams in front of you lose, and you move up in the rankings, we should be disappointed in that? I thought that was how it was supposed to be...

yeah a chance to be 11-2 is not an improvement over being 9-4 last year...what a dumbass. we win 10+ games for the 4th time in 6 years and we are ehhhh in this guys eyes, i guess we should be going 13-1 or 14-0 every other year for LSU to be good in your book

Don't you understand that we should beat everybody, and I mean EVERYBODY, by multiple Tds cause we are LSU and that gives us special football powers.
In fact I propose that next year we don't accept advancement in the rankings if it comes by another team losing. We have to PLAY our way into the national championship. This obviously means we have to start out by being ranked #1 or 2 to get to the national championship. Otherwise I say we forfeit.

10-4 on that question regarding SEC teams that usually beat us, who are they and define "usually"

So let me get this straight. Since we beat the teams that usually beat us that means the other teams had down years? But when they beat us you consider them better then us or do you consider us having a down year? This is the stupidest thread ever.

How could you be such an arse? What more could you ask for?
How could you be such an arse? LSU won ten games without a QB. We will see a much improved offense next season get ready for it.

Is you Justice? Just wondering.

This may qualify for one of the dumbest post of the year. Using the OP's logic, if we beat a particular team (like Ala), that causes that team (Ala) to have a down year, meaning the win doesnt' count. Therefore, we suck if we win and we suck if we lose. Again, a very dumb post with incredibly dumb logic. Get a life or hobby other than LSU football. We need real fans at LSU games.

We didn't play Georgia and what about Auburn, Arkansas and Mississippi State having their best years in a decade+?

You really think Auburn will be any good next year with Newton and losing 4/5 OL? Arkansas could still be good but without Mallett they take a step back. Your "5-loss team" assumption makes no sense because you think everyone will get better and we wont.

We finished 1 game better overall this year than last year. Have a chance to finish 2 games better with a bowl win. We are going to the Cotton Bowl because we dont want to go back to the Capital One bowl after last year's disgrace.

1. No they didn't overall. We played a good OOC schedule considering what teams normally play
2. This doesnt matter at all.
3. What are you talking about? Bowl tie-ins are bowl tie-ins. We are considered at the very least the top non-BCS bowl outside of Bama/MSU. Most of the Top 10 teams are playing in BCS bowls...

We went 10-2 this year with terrible QBs. How is that not playing to our potential. What other 10+ win team has QB play nearly as bad as ours?
