Would love to see the organization explain or at least acknowledge your post but we all know they won't for certain hypocritical reasons because that is (D)ifferent... what a stupid f'in city and team.

There's really no headache over shite like this:
They were nothing that no one would have cared about. If he was a black former player, there is 0% chance he would have been fired.

Maybe Portland should lose the team
Portland fans didn't get him fired.
The guy who wants to move the team had it done. How about get rid of him instead?

The reporter who went digging through Braiden Bell's tweets from when he was a teenager, and found something misogynistic, has quite an interesting tweet of his own from 2012...

Very ableist and fat shaming of this reporter wouldn't you say

The news of this dumbass's firing will be so delicious. How dumb do you have to be to not scrub your socials before going on a witch-hunt to get someone else fired for that exact same thing?

They're not even that bad, at least from the screenshots that were in the article. Didn't even drop any n-bombs, which I bet you would find digging through tweets of players on the roster.
If they were going to use this as a reason to fire him only a few hours after they hired him, then they should also be firing whoever was in charge of his background check and vetting because that person sucks at their job apparently.
It'd be one thing to find this during vetting and then just pass over him for another candidate. But once they hired him and found the tweets hours later, they should have just told him to go delete all of his old high school age tweets before anyone else noticed. Now the Blazers front office looks incompetent for failing in their pre-hire vetting and the announcer's career is probably ruined because now most employers won't touch him since this story will be the first thing that comes up when you google his name.

That was the most tame of all the relatively tame posts. Saying things like slut alert on aisle 10, calling women whores, and saying you dont like asian people were worse. Again, all relatively tame, but

You can just say former player. The way America in 2026 works, if you have a certain pre existing status established you can get away with more shite. This guy didn't.
You can say all kinds of stupid shite when you have status. Kind of like how....nah never mind.

If that dude's boss is as lame as the people dickhead Dundon has running things sure. Oregon is an at will state so you can be fired fairly easily for stupid shite.

No, I just dont immediately make everything a white vs black issue. Sad to see you've reduced your thinking to that.
Plenty of former white athletes have said things more controversial and didnt lose their status or job because of it. Larry Bird, Bill Walton, etc.
