2017 was a great season no doubt

The last 2 have been very disappointing and the offense this year is a huge concern

Like it or not, he’s coaching for his job this year in the opinion of some very close to the program

What's good enough to keep his job from those people "very close to the program?"

SEC title?
Regional host?
Regional win?
SR host?
Omaha trip?
Winning it all?

You have already proven that your answer will be the step above whatever LSU accomplishes this year. If they lose in a Super, you will say a trip to Omaha. If they make it to Omaha, they will have to have won it all. If they win it all, that season will be erased, and you'll be saying next year that he needs to do X to keep his job. Your shite is tiresome, and it's in EVERY SINGLE THREAD.

Honestly, he may be, and im fine with that. A strong season with at least 18 sec wins and super regional appearance. Obviously it depends how it looks. If he wins 48 games and they slip up in regionals against a buzzsaw oh well, but a better regular season than the past two years is needed

Exactly

I do think some of the Rant is going to be disappointed when at the conclusion of the last game Woodward doesn’t run out of the dugout screaming “you’re fired”

CPM will retire from LSU, he will not be fired

I agree, but I think that retirement may be strongly suggested after next season, if one of the two don't provide the necessary outcome.

I think the floor of this team, this year, will not result in Mainieri being removed. If they flop out at the floor, then next season will have to be put up or shut up, and with what we will lose I'm not sure if he will be able to put up. If this team reaches the ceiling, or comes close, then only the same morons will be talking about his exit again next year. That's NEVER going to change.

In a perfect world, for me, Mainieri goes another 2-4 years before retiring, Deggs looks good at ULL, and LSU goes poach him at that time.

Need to make it Omaha

Since you like to follow me put me on record as saying this. A trip to Omaha is what’s expected

Apparently it’s preposterous according to some to even suggest what I suggested.

I agree with you, it’s not bold at all. We’ve been underachieving and it’s not a secret.

Not sure why ooglgloogie gets sand in her vagina over it

I hope not. I want the best for the program. I’m very invested in its success.

I think the pitching staff will be elite. Offensively we need to find a couple of more bats that we can count on besides the guys we already know

If we have 3 good hitters and 3-4 average hitters, i think we will be fine.
Feel like i can count on
Beloso
Garza
Cabrera

I expect mathis to be good.
And i expect between
Willis
Dugas
Bianco
Doughty
Arnold
Gio
We will 2 more good bats

Agree. Beloso, Garza and Cabrera will hit

I really like Willis, Mathis and Bianco as well

Mathis has a really nice approach. I think Smith is gonna help the hitters a ton.

Absolutely a trip to Omaha is a fair expectation

You think Mainieri inherited a rolls royce of a program? Ive seen something similar posted a few times over the last 24 hours. Dont know where that narrative is coming from

Just the Alabama version of NCAA baseball, the most successful program in NCAA history.........

With a team that didmt make the tournament and had only a couple decent players coming back. A bunch of dont care attitudes and lack of good work ethic. Dude had us in omaha two years later. You can try to re-write history if you want, and he has his issues, but its pretty undeniable he rebuilt the program

Oogliegooglie won’t like this but I’m gonna support mainieri on this one. To be fair, he inherited a talent depleted roster save for Dean, Mitchell, Schimpf, Coleman and Ochinko.

He did a good job getting back in the hunt

I just feel like he’s gotten complacent in some respects

PM is the CLM of baseball, hard headed and refuses to change
So what exactly is he hard headed about? What exactly has he refused to change?

We've gotten burned lately with pitching. There were times when we looked to be in good shape only to have injuries or mental lapses bite us. CPM has adjusted by upping his pitching recruiting recently.

Baseball is a completely different sport from football. It's much easier to have an off or unlucky game and get bounced early. Comparisons of CPM to CLM are ridiculous.

You must still be mad I came with facts to prove that the BS you were spewing was flat out false.

I don't care that someone doesn't agree with me. You do the same stuff in every single thread though. You aren't interested in talking baseball, you are interested in telling everybody how much Mainieri sucks. A lot of our views line up pretty closely, regarding baseball. You just approach it with the same tired BS in every thread.

It's the same thing with Mainieri and Hughes on here. I don't think CPM has done as good as expected, and I don't think Hughes is good enough to play SS at LSU, but some of the takes on both are so ridiculously off that it makes me seem like I'm a homer for both, and I'm not.

He's also got an enormous manhood. We were watching him one day in his uniform giving an interview and his phallus stretched out to be at least 9 inches. Half way down on his thigh. We laughed our asses off....
