Yeah...Tiger Rag has been banned since Saban was here. That's well over a decade ago. Before that, if I'm not mistaken, at least part of it was played after a TD, right? That's when I remember doing it...after a score...and the band would continue playing one long sustained note as they readied for kick off and would play the final note as the kicker kicked the ball.
Seem right? It's been a LONG time.

You students and guys in your 20's can't seem to grasp one simple thing: YES, when we were students, we DID shout out a few off-color cheers and some choice yells at the refs after bad calls ("bullshite..bullshite"), but Jesus Christ we didn't screech "a-hole! a-hole!" Or "Suck that tiger dick bitch!" so the WORLD could hear! What in the hell does that prove???, that you can 'get away with it?'
Can't you have fun WITHOUT making LSU look like Hooterville or Hicksville ????
By the way, an LSU alumnus class of 1989 is not ""OLD"".

Yup, and they quit doing that after the 06 season I believe. Could be sooner but I know for sure they didnt do it in 07.

This just is not true, Metry. That has been a part of Tiger Rag since AT LEAST 1982. Before that someone else would have to answer.

If you'd like to "improve" the student section, I will gladly upgrade a student ticket for you, unless sitting in your normal, half-empty 35 yd. line section is too good to pass up.

It was not quiet. In fact the atmosphere was much more intimidating than it is now and for most if not all the games.
Now the atmosphere is only really great for the biggest games.
However, the games were not all on TV, and the football was not so much part of the entertainment world as it is now.
I am much more embarrassed by what the older fans do than anything the students do.
