Will Ripoll has a 2.63 ERA in 13 2/3 innings. Our team ERA is 4.92. I would say he counts. They definitely count just as much as Costello, Threadgill, and George.

Agree. Ripoll has done pretty good when given his chance. Gunter should have redshirted but due to injury he had to pitch a few innings. Costello and George are inconsistent. I think Threadgill has some upside.

Earlier this week

Right now, Paul Mainieri said it’s “50/50” for Jaden Hill and Cole Henry to pitch in the SEC tournament — if #LSU gets past Tuesday.

Also some injury news: - Jaden Hill will throw a simulated game on Friday. - Cole Henry will throw a simulated game on Saturday. How those go will determine if/when they can pitch in the SEC Tournament #LSU

I just learned that BOTH of Auburn's injured starters have returned and will play this week-end. the SEC tourney also begins on Tuesday. this series is a make it or break it as far as hosting goes but it's gonna be a lot tougher than many think. we will need our bats to win the series and who knows if they show up or not.

"Just learned"???

That has been known since last weekend. Mainieri talked about it on one of his post-game radio shows.

ETA: Or, maybe he talked about it on his call-in radio show Monday night....

Okay, thanks.

I was at the game so I wasn't watching it on TV.

yeah, i kind of figured you were. But, Ben and Lyn talked about how they had injuries but 2 of the 3 would be back for this series.

The UNO broadcast was one worth paying attention to. Being the last midweek game, they were talking about a ton of different stuff. But Ben McDonald was talking a ton about the look of the team next season and the incoming recruiting class.

He feels like we have a very good chance of seeing Cade Doughty on campus next year. Given the Denham Springs connection and Ben's son playing HS ball with Doughty, and Richard Doughty being on the team at LSU with Ben, I have to think he's got as good an idea as anyone not in the Doughty family.

I been telling y'all Ripoll for weeks.

Oh and I've dropped some Cabrerra all season too. Dunno why Mains isn't giving that some thought being the only lefty Mains could dream of sending out there.

Highly rated infielder from Denham Springs. Played on Team USA for several years. Has pitched, but will be a position player at LSU. Can play anywhere on the diamond at a high enough level to be drafted (IMO). Primarily a shortstop, but for Team USA he has played SS, CF, and C (and maybe other positions as well). Really good bat.

ETA: Also an LSU legacy whose dad was a catcher for LSU under Skip and whose brother is currently a catcher for LSU.
