I personally would rather walk in a run that see a ball hit 500 feet. Potentially multiple runs and the momentum shift is much bigger with HRs than walks. But, that said, I’m not advocating for walks. I’m advocating for more competitive misses.

At this level they are going to hit HR’s if they know the fastball is coming every time.
I don't know about that. Have you watched Home Run Derbies? Sometimes a guy gets on a hot streak, but the best MLB home run hitters usually hit a low % of HRs even with their coach feeding them easy pitches.

Challenge the hitters (within reason - still want to keep them guessing) and make them hit the ball.

Certainly. I wasn’t trying to imply it will always be a HR

This is a bad way to look at it. Dugas hit a HR to lead off the game yesterday and the AU pitcher continued to challenge our hitters and we didn't get anything else in the inning. In the bottom half we couldn't throw a ball near the zone and the inning imploded 1 bomb is substantially better than walking the bases loaded.

The pitch calling is bad, throw 4-5 curves in a row, with a 0-2,1-2 count call pitches in the strike zone. When a batter fowls of two or three pitches in a row still calls the same pitch. Don’t see many high fastballs called everything seems down, are pitches are becoming to predictable

In this same thread there is someone saying the exact opposite.

Watching Little on Sunday, you could trot Hellmers out there and get a better quality start or at least strikes

LSU is ranked no. 100 in walks per nine innings at 4.31 and that is with LSU's best, Paul Skenes at No. 22 with 1.61 walks per inning

Opposing teams are only hitting .221 against the staff as a whole. Stop walking people and you become super tough to beat. Even if that average against rises because of it I’ll take that.
