I have a pretty bad infestation has anyone had success treating them 15 or so acres of young trees. I've been advised to cut and burn all the infested trees.

Cut a perimeter 2x height around infected trees showing pitch tubes/sawdust or yellowing needles.

I remember the neighborhood I lived in as a child had a run of those.
When we moved in, there were pine trees everywhere.
Those beetles took out a path 50 yards wide straight through the neighborhood.
Streets in the front and back of the neighborhood still have pine trees.
2 blocks of streets in the middle have zero pine trees.

Every pine tree that has been infested on my 2 acres died. Look for browning needles. I don't hear so well anymore but my wife could hear them chewing their way up the tree. I've lost at least a dozen large pines.

by the time the infestation is visible on a tree its far too late to do anything about it

My neighbor lost over 30 during the last big drought and luckily I didn't lose any big trees.

Where are your trees? Pine beetles are a PITA.
