But would you be willing to do the return game at their place? You probably wouldn't so why would you expect another big time team to just come to you with no return?

Strangely, I thought the same thing for some reason. I don't know why. I've never been anywhere near Denver....

I absolutely would. bring it. Ohio State comes here, let's go to the fricking Horseshoe. I'll play anybody at their house if they come to ours.

Verge has already said they want to go back to Atlanta when the new stadium is complete.

The Atlanta folks will likely want a good ACC team as the opponent, so that would probably mean FSU, VT, Clemson or Louisville. Out of that group, FSU would be the obvious favorite choice.

dukie...where have you been for the last few years ?
According to our athletic dept. the prime reason for all these neutral site games is.......so the recruits of Dallas, Houston and Atlanta areas, can see the team up close ! 2nd reason is usually centered around all the LSU alumni in those areas are apparently unable to travel to our home stadium...lol and lastly....neutral site games give us marvelous "national exposure".
The ONLY reason we do this shite is $$$$$$$$$$, say it and own it !
I've NEVER heard even a potential recruit state they signed with LSU because we played a game in their home town ! Distant and near alumni know where the campus is and can attend an overpriced "neutral" game virtually EVERY year, they're called bowl games !
As far as "national exposure"...you don't think a home/home vs. Oregon,Wisky,Clemson...yes virtually any big mane opponent would not bring "national exposure x2 ?
It's all about the $$$$$ and a slap in the face to the local LSU fanbase, alumni, season ticket holders and the B.R. business community...the recent OOC home schedule borders on the absurd !
