LSU ticket manager Brian Broussard said his office has accepted requests for 15,000 tickets to the Cotton Bowl — already more than the official allotment of 12,500.

Broussard said LSU fans have submitted about 10,000 ticket requests for the Capital One Bowl and 9,000 for the Outback.

Maybe so. I still want Cotton this year. But I'll go wherever they send us.

easily. I don't know why people don't understand that. nothing to gain by playing an 18th ranked team

because a bunch of dumbasses just want to go to a stadium that they can go to in 9 months to watch LSU play a better team and possible defending national champs ... i went to the saints game up there .. if you are in the 300 level on the sidelines it is tough watching the game with the gigantic HD screen in your face ..

almost everyone chirping for the cotton bowl are saying "uuuhhh .. we can play in the greatest stadium in america against an old rival of ours .. the game is going to be in primetime and it is the only game on TV that night instead of 12 noon on new years day .. "

frick that .. i grew up watching LSU open with A&M every season for 10 years .. playing them in a bowl does NOTHING for me ..we might as well play tennessee in a bowl game (which we did in 1972) again .. the game will be on Fox .. who butchers college football .. that means NO ESPN promotion whatsoever ... and friday night is the worst primetime night of the week ... last year our bowl had the FIFTH highest viewership of all bowls .. higher than the orange bowl and just below the fiesta bowl ... the new year's day slot against the #8 team is MUCH MUCH better and will get many more viewers for LSU ...

I'm 100% with you.

New Year's day is synonymous with bowl games. Jan 7th is not.
