As long as Joe and Brennan stay healthy, this is good for the program.

Good is a strong word and disagree with that in of itself. I'll never be happy losing QB depth with what we've gone through the last decade.

Its all part of the game, baw. Perhaps "good" is a strong word, but how else do you communicate "why the frick is everyone acting like this is a huge issue, when in reality hes transferring because Burrow/Brennan must have stepped up" in a quick subject?

you have to know how to manage your qb room so that a freshman doesn't feel the need to transfer. Whether that be on a mental level or whatever, you can't let that happen. You just lost a tank of a freshman with 4 years to develop. When is the last time you saw that happen at a program? Meanwhile other teams in the SEC have 5 star top 15 players committing to sit on the bench.

Yes. LSU is starting to stabilize the QB position with Burrow here for two years and developing Brennan to step in the following year. You have Parrish committed for 2019 and Finley for 2020. This opens up spots on the roster and could lead to another QB commitment for 2019 or 2020.
If we can continue to bring in top prospects and let them compete to find the best players, LSU will be better for it.

I anticipated a QB would transfer, and I was hoping it would not be Brennan. I think MB is competing but is happy to wait a year or two to take over.

This staff stuck with Lowell despite his injuries and gave him every opportunity to move up the depth chart. Don't be an idiot.

Would've liked to see Narcisse stick it out this season and then transfer. He's still really young and incredibly talented. I don't think Tiger fans want to see Brennan against a top SEC defense either, so lets hope Burrow stays healthy.

I get McMillian.

Correct, my bad. Terrible memories of JJ still in my head.

The revisionist history many people have of Miles' tenure is a problem because it's preventing people from realizing that Orgeron is doing a lot of the same shite that ultimately got Miles fired.

- Stacking depth at certain positions while creating issues at others? Check.
- Hiring "buddies" into positions because it's easier? Check.
- No clear offensive philosophy? Check.
- Recruiting dual threat QBs only to have them transfer because it's not a good fit? Check.

We've seen how this plays out, and it's not good.

I disagree. I see Narcisse as a late-bloomer like Rohan Davey. Davey looked awful in his first games as a RS sophomore. He showed flashes of what he could be by the end of that year but didn't really become a great QB until he was a RS Junior. If he had reacted the same way Narcisse did when Booty was ahead of him, LSU would not have won the SEC and the Sugar Bowl in 2001.

I'm not sure why college QBs think they need to play as a RS Fr. Some, like Davey and Flynn, don't peak until about their 4th or 5th years in the program. You hope you have a program that always starts NFL-caliber RS-Jrs and Srs, with NFL-caliber Frs and Sos waiting in the wings. Every once in awhile (10 years) you hope you have a QB so elite he can start as a RS-Fr. If that's your team's norm then, in my opinion, that's a weakness, not a strength because there simply aren't enough guys out there to perform like that.

Another thing to consider - if Matt Mauck had stayed for 2004, the team could have contended for another championship. We had a RS-Fr Jamarcus Russell on the team who split time with a journeyman QB and the team struggled. I see a very similar situation here with Narcisse and Burrow. If LSU throws Narcisse in this year, I think he struggles just like Jamarcus. If this team has any shot, we need the D to be dominant and we need excellent QB play. Jamarcus, Davey, and Flynn weren't able to give that to their teams as RS Fr. Neither is Narcisse.

I don't agree with Narcisse's move. I think it's wrong for him and for the team.

as long as mcmilan stays then we're all good. getting down to 2 scholarship qbs though is pretty frightening. especially when one of them is a stick figure.

… only if O get's right what Les Miles got wrong more often than not. I hope it's a really good thing so the team can move on and focus on the task at hand (i.e. getting better at pass protection and solidifying the running game).

If Burrow wins the QB spot then you have Brennan play some mop up duty in 3 or 4 games. Brennan can still red shirt and have 2 years if Burrow stays 2 years. If Burrow gets hurt then this scenario is out the window.

these situations rarely go according to plan. everyone had brennan/narcisse's futures perfectly mapped out on here. i highly doubt the season will be that accommodating your scneario.

Correct, but I think most everyone believes that Burrow is the best QB on the roster. Barring injury, this doesn't have a negative impact on the team or the future at the position.

Like I posted earlier, I've never seen so much attention for the 3rd and 4th string QBs before. Burrow has 2 years left, Brennan has 3 years, LSU is just fine.

Ohio State fans, literally, reacted the same way when Burrow left and he was supposedly 3rd on the depth chart.

He was 2nd. So I get that reaction if Brennan were to transfer.

three would have been nice. Who’s is QB 3,4 on the depth chart now?

Who cares? If you have to play your 3rd QB you are fricked regardless.
