Can't see why JJ needs to throw the ball with the way Lee is throwing it.

So the d can stack the box everytime he comes in?

If the game goes well he shouldn't get any snaps

Miles himself (see my quote) said it would be irresponsible

Wan't that an interesting choice of words to use...irresponsible...

It suggested to me that Les really wants to put JJ in there but knows that Lee has earned the job.

I fear that Lee's leash will be very short, in spite of the fact that JJ's leash was incredibly long last season.

Exactly. Jefferson isn't going to get 4/5 yards a pop running it every time against Florida, Bama, Auburn, Tennessee or Arkansas - unless he actually throws a pass every now and then.

Otherwise, both safeties and lb's on deck and rush #9 at the line.

100% JL, because that means he isn't struggling, or we are not in need of a running situation next to the goal line.

If we get into those running situations in the goal line, then maybe 95-5.

Either way, I am good as long as we win. Saturday is a good opportunity to put it on em too! Like another poster was saying about revenge for 08, I agree. That was a blah game by the offense, and I want to see a reversal of that.

which is all the more reason not to put him in. We've got 3 good backs and we never need to invite teams to stack the box.

There's a reason why many call CLM the Mad Hatter. No one knows how much but he'll use JJ way more than what many will see fit. It will make me sick to my stomach to see that happen to JL who's been the upmost committed, quality leader we have at QB right now. JL has done a great job at performing for us, helping us to undefeated, #1 status, and bailing us out when we needed him most(including when our previous starter decided to go out for a good time).

JJ can provide some value if he can force safeties to move up then hit the WR. It will take numerous successful read option runs before they start to cheat, particularly against disciplined teams like Bama, who can probably eliminate the option with their front 7 alone.

Infirior opponents will need help from the back end, which makes JJ threat IF he can make the throws.

The "IF" is what scares the shite out of me.

Yes, we call this the play action pass. Look JJ was our QB for 2 1/4 years. It's not a secret he has the "ability" the throw the football. I'm sure college coaches will instill in thier players he is a QB. So while on one hand I do agree, there is a possibility there for a big play, and I like as many options as we can get, I still feel that it would be no different then a play action pass by Lee on a running situation. I say let your better passer do the passing.

AlaTiger,

I completely agree with you. If Miles benches Lee, without him struggling mightily, then I will quit caring. Jefferson is not entitled to be the starting QB at LSU. I am a proud graduate and will always be a Tiger, but there would be no justification for annointing JJ as the starting QB.

Why? You state you proud graduate of LSU. I would think you would actually care/root for the team rather than who the QB is.

All i hope it that Miles does nothing to slow down an offense that has been doin really well all yr. So ill go with 90-10 JL. We all know that as a player you get in the flow of a game. Especially a passer like Lee. And i really think letting JJ play 40 % of the Time would Kill Lee. And you might as well give JJ the reigns and lets go back to last yrs offensive Output.
