If you are a student attending one of these universities, it means that you will receive a grade of incomplete, many students will not be able to graduate and student athletes across the state at those schools will be ineligible to play next semester. That means you can say farewell to college football next fall.

It's based on the lack of eligibility of the players. If LSU main campus runs out of money, no one will be able to attend classes. Ergo, the players would not be academically eligible. He's not using football as saying he'll take it away, he's showing the detrimental effects that failing to fund the university could have across the board.

If college football is in peril, then so is his lofty title....

That's not even a joke

He is already a liar. Said he wouldn't raise taxes. Now, he threatens to kill football?

To respond to your pre-edited post, regardless the reason for our state's plight, using LSU football as a political tool is deplorable.

Ima go ahead and say now that he is full of shite...since LSU football is self-sustaining, there would be absolutely no reason to kill it except to scare people into giving him his way....

Sorry, I'm in DC and did not get to see the "address". Did he honestly say this? I'm already trying to process the bombshell tweet that I got about TOPS.

Yes. At least according to the annual meetings I've been to. They said LSU football is funded completely by TAF. No tax dollars used.

Just stop. It's typical scare taxes to raise taxes.

Nobody would support higher taxes if he said he was going to have to cut giving free stuff to the deadbeats who got him elected.

How stupid of JBE to say something ridiculous like that?

Regardless of how short the state budget is why would you shut down a multi million dollar profit machine like LSU football?

He thinks we are so stupid that we will rush to support his massive tax increases out of fear of losing football.

Screw him.
